Despite being mounted to a stud the weight of the dvd player made the shelf tilt forward. I would not recommend this shelf! Look for other options.

Thankfully I had a drill with metal drill bits to drill new holes and make it work. What should have been a 30 minute project turned into hours. If I didn't have to deal with that issue I would have given a higher rating.
