i bought this to mount my mitsubishi HC1600. its very versatile, adjusts easily to any angle needed, and the standard pipe thread worked great for getting the mount below my drop ceiling and hiding the cords.

Works well and installs fairly easily. If I were you I would go to Sanus's web site and download the installation instructions. What I got in the box were pictures with a very short notes on what to do. It wasn't always clear how things worked/fit together. The downloaded manual explains things in detail. One other issue and I've seen this complaint on another site is that the screws (4) used for projector alignment are not that well made and the treads are not well done and this may cause you to put to much torque on the screw head and you may strip the phillips screws heads rather easily. I suggest that you replace these with some #10 allen head screws which you can get at a local hardware store. This may only be an issue with the one I bought and because the box is not sealed you cannot tell if it may have been used and then returned with missing paperwork and burred up threads. But it is easy to work around if you do have this issue.

The Sanus Universal Ceiling Mount is a very sturdy and good projector mount. It comes with off white or silver plates. We chose to have the silver plates on ours and it looks great! The Geek Squad guys did an awesome job of mounting our Epson 2030 Powerlite Projector (AMAZING projector- we love it!!!-we reviewed that also) to the ceiling. We are extremely satisfied!

I disregarded the other reviewers who said that this product was difficult to install, and that the manual is woefully incomplete. After all, I've installed three other projectors over the past 15 years. Don't make my mistake. Ask yourself this: what's 6 hours of my time worth? Even if your answer is less than the listed price, I'd still caution you. The universality of the mount means that it has a dizzying number of options--many of which will not apply to your particular projector. On the surface, that sounds okay, but then realize that the instructions are almost zero help. Ikea manuals point and laugh at these instructions. . Mostly, you're on your own, with a dozen spare parts you don't need and aren't documented. The video posted on this product listing was somewhat more helpful than the instructions, and without it, I'm not sure I would have gotten to the finish line. The alignment process, in particular, is brutal. Over the course of two days, through a lot of blood, sweat and tears (two of those three fluids actually did make an appearance in the job), I got my projector mounted and aligned. So, yes, it can be done, but expect plenty of bumps in the road.

Worked as advertised! No issues when I installed the mount to the ceiling.

The problem I had is that the bolt covers were not threaded far enough so they could not grip the bolt. I put the mount on my projector but could not tighten the bolts. We pulled up and the mount came loose with very little pressure. I ended up having to use some bolts and covers from my old projector mount. I could not believe I paid $150 for something that was this poorly made. I may still take this back and try to get something better. Go with another product if at all possible.

This is a great product to mount your projector on but you have to have to hang it on a supporting beam otherwise it will not be sturdy enough to support the wall mount and projector.

was looking for a ceiling mount for the new projector this was on stock and they even matched amazon price.

The mount box had the installation kit and instructions booklet as included in the box. But when unpacked, the booklet was missing and I was disappointed.

I purchased this with the Optoma HD-20 sold in the store. The mount is actually too big for this projector.

Sanus customer service just confirmed that this "Universal" ceiling mount is not compatible with Epson PowerLite 3020. Disappointing. Let's hope they communicate this to Best Buy or put it on their packaging.
