I kept experience the same issue when plugging in a USB device while an SD card was transferring data.

Broke in first 2 weeks, would not recommend.

Plugged a USB for my keyboard into the dock and it permanently ripped out the inside of the USB port in the dock. Can no longer use that port in the dock and my keyboard no longer works either.

Satchi - Useless without power adapter

Useless for $69 spent on this.

JUNK. SLOW, NOT STABLE CONNECTION

This is on a 2022 Dell XPS using Thunderbolt USB C powered by DELL brick 180W so no lacking of power. Also switched DELL into trickle slow charging using the PD port. USELESS TECH.

Today Dec 15 2022 this piece is not working properly anymore. I had to order a new device in order to have internet and not encounter problems at every turn. I use it for ethernet connection as well. Not a good quality product for the money. $80 it's a lot for a product with 9 months life.
