Satechi Hub for Mac Mini with NVMe slot

Nice to have the extra ports right out front for easy access. Also like the nice upgrade on this version where you can add an NVMe drive inside for extra storage space. It is powered through the thunderbolt port so no extra power plugs to worry about. Was able to catch this on sale for $20 off so it was absolutely worth the price

It allows me to drop in a 1 terabyte SSD, for time machine backups locally and use Standard USB high speed memory to move large Protools sessions with ease. Wonderful platform. Thanks

It is EZ to add solid state hard drive and even a traditional hard drive to the unit. This I have tons of storage that I need to use to run my business. And I get additional USB ports to connect all my external gear. I 100% recommend this product it’s a hands foen winner.

While the SSD itself performed reliably as raw storage, the Satechi dock proved problematic for EFI booting on Apple Silicon. It lacked proper documentation, and during OpenCore setup, I encountered intermittent detection issues that made the boot process unstable and unpredictable. For users pursuing advanced macOS workflows—especially external booting—this hardware pairing is not dependable. I expected better compatibility and transparency from both the product and the retailer. Great for peripherals!

I downloaded final cut pro with it connected and i just thouht let ne unplug it after 10 minutes the download time went from 1 hour to 45 minutes

Also installed a Crucial 1Tb NVMe drive into the hub (because Apple charges so much for extra storage) which is working great. A good addition especially to add more accessible ports, and SD card slot, at the front where needed.

I did return, however for the upgraded M4. There is currently no version of this product for the M4. I would recommend this, however.
