Being a hug fan of the movie and musical "Mary Poppins" I was uneasy entering the movie that was to tell the story of how "Mary Poppins" was made. I was thrown into an unknown world and told an amazing story which which brought out all sorts of emotions. The acting was incredible and the time flew by. All in all it was supercalifragilisticexpialidosious!

I'm a huge Tom Hanks fan and he is probably my favorite actor of all time, so needless to say I had big expectations for this movie and was not disappointed. I love Disney and Disney movies and was so into every minute of this movie and felt so many emotions. This movie definitely takes you on a ride all by itself!

Saving Mr. Banks is a fantastic look at one of the classic films from Walt Disney - Mary Poppins. The cast is superb. Unfortunately the Academy Awards ignored this film, and that is a true shame. Tom Hanks, and Emma Thompson give stellar performances. The score by Thomas Newman is also worth mentioning. Great, great film filled with emotion.

I received this movie as a Christmas gift from the husband after seeing it in the theatre. As an avid Disney and Emma Thompson fan, I was excited for this one before it came out and I loved it. She did not disappoint and had me crying by the end. I loved how the story focused on P. L. Travers' experience. Tom Hanks was an ok Walt.

Those of us who loved the children's classic movie, Mary Poppins will really enjoy this true story about how Walt Disney won the heart of the author and the rights to tell the story. I was unaware that the movie was based on books. I love the pictures at the end of the real people involved and the real tape from one of the interviews.

Saving Mr. Banks is the story of how Walt Disney got Mary Poppins made. The acting is spot on the way the story is told is excellent. Tom Hanks as Walt Disney is perfect casting. The bonus features are very good. The only downfall is that it's not a combo pack and does not included a DVD. This is a great addition to any movie library

If you are just a little bit of a Disney fan (even though I love Disney) this is a must see movie. I have always enjoyed old time Disney and the way Tom Hanks played Walt, he brought him back to life! I enjoyed this movie thoroughly and even the Blu-Ray extras were great. Get this movie or at least put it on your watch list!

I had no idea that Mary Poppins was a series of books. Tom Hanks as Walt Disney was spot on from what I have read from people who were close to him. Emma Thompson was incredible (as usual!). I certainly hope that she wasn't as disagreeable as she was portrayed, but knowing the authenticity that Disney worked so hard to achieve I am sure she was. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. We laughed, we cried, it was better than Cats! LOL

Yes, the movie is a "based on a true story" scenario and of course there are liberties taken. I honestly don't know how much is true and how much is fiction. I love this movie! Hanks and Thompson are really good in it as well as the supporting cast. My only complaint about the bluray is that the extras are aren't very strong.

If you are a fan of actors Emma Thompson & Tom Hanks, you will love this movie. It's an interesting story of Walt Disney's perseverance, author P.L. Travers childhood, and what it took for Mr Disney and his team to get permission to make a movie of a children's book Mary Poppins.

This is a great companion piece to have along with the original Mary Poppins movie. It goes on to show in some fictionalized Hollywood manner the makings of the beloved movie, and how far in lengths it took for Disney to finally acquire the rights to make the book into a film. You'll enjoy the movie and you can then watch Mary Poppins for a good laugh and, and singing.

Once I began to understand the plot a bit better I understood why Emma Thompson's character was so protective of Mary Poppins, Tom Hanks as Walt Disney was great, and nice to hear his own personal family stories that the average Disney fan wouldn't know. The biggest surprise was Colin Farrel's performance. I was shocked that he want shown more in the commercials. Overall it was one of my favorite non superhero movie of 2013

Although this is apparently the "Disney version" of the story of how Mary Poppins finally came to the big screen, it is a great movie. It's very well shot, the story moves well, and Tom Hanks is surprisingly believable as Walt. The price was right, especially with the digital download thrown in.

Saving Mr Banks is a movie that everyone will enjoy. It has emotion, feelings, and is about a true story. There is compassion in the film, and the actors make you feel for them. The songs are wonderful, and you will start singing them in your head. You root for Mr. Banks and hope things will work out. You wonder why this lady doesn't like Disneyland. Could anyone? See if he is able to get to her heart.

Went to see this movie when it was released. Bought it when it came out on DVD, got a great price at Best Buy. Loved this movie, being a Disney Freak I learned a lot I didn't know about Walt Disney and about the making of this movie.

Being a huge fan of Julie Andrews, It was exciting to se her in her first movie after loosing out on MY FAIR LADY. How was the book chosen and we find out the author did not want to have it made into a movie. It shows finally her approvial and her being there while the movie is being made.

A good movie that tells the story of how Disney acquires the rights to Mary Poppins.

I thought this was a very good movie with fantastic acting performances. The film follows the early stages of Walt Disney convincing PL Travers to make Mary Poppins. Meanwhile, Ms. Travers flashes back to early tumultuous days with her beloved but besotted father. Tom Hanks is so good as Disney. The movie will make you want to watch Mary Poppins so keep that handy for a double feature.

A great movie for the whole family. Bring the tissue box for the tears as well as the laughter. This movie showed the human side of Walt Disney and P.L. Travers, as well as those who made the movie Mary Poppins. It was also enlightening to see where the beloved character came from.

This background story as to how Walt Disney acquired the movie rights to Mary Poppins was very, very interesting. I had no idea he had such a hard, time consuming effort with the author. Even more interesting/disturbing was the dark side to Emma Thompson's character. I have to watch it again to fully understand the author's motivation in relating her life to Mary Poppins.
