Great movie. Awesome in 4K only reason why it didn’t get 5 stars is when the soldiers are walking at the top of there helmets their would be a shutter in the picture.

4K is sometimes hit-or-miss in my experience, but this film is worth every cent to own in that format! The picture quality is gorgeous, the sound is great, and gives this masterpiece new life. And what can I say about the movie that hasn’t already been said?? Tom Hanks and Matt Damon are superb, the battle scenes are well-shot, and if you don’t have a tear in your eye by the end, check your pulse.

This is an awesome movie to watch in 4K, even if a person has watched it before. The special features disc is a must see to get a true understanding of this movie, how it was made, and to understand the true story of Saving Private Ryan. This 4K movie deserves 5 stars. Watching the special features disk brings this movie to life and compliments all involved in the making of this picture. There were no problems with this 4K disc. The Steel Book is awesome as well! If a person likes true stories, this needs to be in their collection.

One of the best film I have ever watched. Great story, the sound and picture quality is superb! Everything about it is good. I highly recommend this film to be included in your collection. So sad I wasn't able to grab the steel book as the regular edution does not have a slip cover. I really don't know why Bestbuy does not include the slip cover when they ship the 4k bluray. Is Tha the thing righ now??? Good thing the copy that they sentlooks good!

This was one of the paramount steelbooks released from best buy on 9/07/2014, also being the first steelbook edition released in the US (not the metalpak from Walmart months back). Very sturdy and glossy finished steelbook with disc 1 of the feature film. Would have been better if the second disc was also included with this release. As for quality, looks great! There are scenes where the image looks grainy, but the quality has definitely improved!

This is possibly the best war movie ever. There's so much more than just the action, this movie has serious heart. A must see.

I held off buying the Sapphire version because it seemed I always read bad reviews. I hoped an anniversary edition would get remastered but never did. Got duped buying the 4K Steelbook release thinking it had blu-ray version since I don't own a 4K player. So, I bought the Sapphire version, popped into my Sony blu-ray player and it looked like it did when I saw it in the theater! And I put it in my steelbook case. ; )

This film is in my opinion one of the greatest, most accurate, and gut wrenching war films of all time, a must see! My only gripe is not with Mr Tom Hanks or the masterpiece film he took part in it is with Paramount. The digital copy enclosed with my copy didn't work and I've emailed paramount twice with no response. I'm guessing my only option is to return it to best buy which is going to be a hassle because they don't stock this film at the store and ill have to special order it again not to mention the closest best buy to me is over an hour away

First of all this is a great movie. One of the best war films ever. The 4K picture upgrade is very good. You will be very happy but where this movie really shines is in the sound department. This is one of the best Dolby Atmos tracks out there. The opening scene storming the beaches of Normandy is epic and the sound is spectacular with bombs going off everywhere and gunfire wizzing by your head. It is the kind of movie you throw on to show off your sound system. It is awesome!

One of the great movies of all time. This 4k version has a terrific picture and soundtrack. Highly recommend.

Bought two of these, one for my own use and pleasure and another to collect and preserve. While Schindler’s List is undoubtedly Spielberg’s magnum opus, this is a close second! Beautiful film and story, well shot and edited, and of course, the sets! Heavens! That said, the steelbook premium is well worth a re-buy for anyone who already owns a hard copy or even a digital one!

Steven Spielberg's great World War 2 masterpiece is a film everyone needs to see. But be prepare for the films first 30 minutes, because the epic war battle on the beach may def offend or horrify some viewers. But Spielberg shows truly, war is ugly (and bloody, and horrific as well) If the film has any flaws a few of the supporting characters feel a bit like stereotypes from other war films, but they small aside, I still find this film brilliant and disturbing. How it did not win Best Picture, still amazes me.

Great to have this movie in 4K but it was $28 for a repackaged, one disc, barebones release, ugh

I was expecting more from the image quality as it was upgraded to 4K but overall great movie.
