As a kid growing up in the eighties and nineties I can say that this is the best war movie of my generation Scenes in this movie have been parodied and Copied in both film and video games An absolute masterpiece from Steven Spielberg with superb acting from Tom Hanks tom sizemoreMatt Damon And the entire cast A definite must own. Really expeeice this in 4k with Dolby sound. Wow

At various points throughout the film, a "glare" appeared on the screen during some of the more "flashing" or explosive scenes (mainly the battles at the beginning and end). I assume this was due to an older film being "converted" to Bluray from a lesser format. My first experience with the phenomena, but I will be wary of it in the future.

The picture quality is pretty clear, considering there is a lot of shaking in the movie.

Saw this in the theaters when it came out, The rounds flying everywhere, bullets bouncing off of the metal obstructions, it was indescribable. I bought this because I wanted the first 4k movie I played in surround sound to be one I had previously viewed and had touched my soul. This one did not disappoint, you really feel like you are there with the Hero's that landed on Omaha Beach.

Bought the original dvd . Then bought it again when it was released with DTS ( Theater experience in your living room with my Best Buy JBL Surround sound system ) Then when we up graded ( from Bestbuy ) our tv to a Sony 3D 65" and a 4K player this was a must get to relive the initial experience in my living room . Just have to put up with the wife telling me to turn it down .

I finally upgraded to the blu-ray/4k pack from the DVD collector's edition with a similar appearing packing. I'm very pleased with how the audio on the 4k disc is - The final bridge battle will mess your ears up if not your speakers. Even then, if there is a top 5 list of Spielberg movies to have, this would be in the top three. And this set is no slouch at all.

The detail is amazing right down to the dirt on the faces after the beach scene the scene where Mrs Ryan gets the telegrams to the right of the door you can make out the pictures of the brothers and the farm field pass the staff car of course this took several rewinds for the tears to dry up trying to pay attention to detail has dolby atmos which really enhances the sound effects

Out of the remastered 4k films I’ve picked up recently this is absolutely the best transfer. The audio in its original format is amazing and the attention to the remaster makes it one of the best I’ve heard. The picture is nice it’s still shot on original 35 millimeter from 1940s so grainy as it should be. But that sound takes this movie to the next level easily.

Before buying I checked to make sure this was not fake 4K. Just upscaled. This is true 4K according to realorfake4K.com. It truly looks clear. Better the TV, better the experience of course. I do not have the best sound system so cannot speak much about that. If 4K matters to you and this is a movie is something you feel you can watch many times. Worth a purchase 100%. Nice part is you can keep or give digital to someone else if you want as well.

Over all, this has been the best viewing experience of this movie so far for me!

I have yet to pop the disc in, but the reviews of this disc by professionals state it all: this is the definitive way to experience this masterpiece. I know I will not be disappointed when I experience this the way it’s meant to be seen.

A classic for a reason. It's a movie that truly deserves all the hype it receives. A good, mostly realistic glimpse into the horrors of WW2. While the events that take place are definitely fictional, the feel and atmosphere are intense.

I'm not going to review the actual Movie, it's been out for a long time, and every Critic has already weighed in. I'm going to review the Blu-Ray Release on Steelbook. The Movie is crystal clear with awesome Sound, especially if you have a Surround Sound System. The Packaging is awesome, Steelbooks are my favorite way to package Movies. This one fits in nicely with my other Steelbooks. Highly recommend picking up this Version even if you already have it in regular Packaging.

Loved this movie! Loved the depiction of Tom Hank's charater, strong and thoughtful. My late Uncle who served as a training sargent, and then reenlisted to fight with his men, in the 442, saw this movie and said it was like he remembered, but the film could not show the smell. A wonderful movie to get a view of WWII.

The 4k presentation is an awesome experience on a home theater . Even if you dont have a high powered theater system or just a sound bar , the audio track rocks and the video goes without saying. So in short just have a 4k tv and player , soundbar or full scale sytem and buckle up.

I remember buying this movie when it first was released and hearing it on home theater system with vcr, the sound was so realistic. The scene Omaha beach with sounds of the ocean waves to hearing bullets and bombs was awesome. Also great cast, Tom Hanks, Tom Sizemore and Matt Damon, Vin Diesel. The last two mention who are mega stars today. Upgraded home theater system for todays movie & audio sounds, can`t wait to watch this movie again.

Steven Spielberg's war epic Saving Private Ryan started a trend of realistic war films and reinvigorated the American interest in World War II. All of he performances are top notch. From tom hanks, to vin diesel, to Matt Damon and everyone else. Everything is great about the film. The plot. The direction. The writing. Even the production design is fantastic. It is definitely one of the best war films ever made and one of the best films ever in general.

it's a great movie and the quality of this 4k blue ray is amazing
