A great World War 2 story about returning a private to his family.

Great movie. Looks better than my original DVD. This technology hobby is costing me a lot of money to keep re-buying movies I already had but needed to get them in the latest format (VHS, LaserDisc, DVD, HD-DVD, BLU-Ray DVD, Ultra 4K DVD, streaming services like Hulu, Amazon Prime, Netflix, AppleTV).

One of the most important and amazing films of all time now in the highest standard of video and audio. Sounds so good coming out of my surround sound that when people come over I feel obligated to demonstrate it for them.

I'm giving this a 5 star rating but the Steelbook did not come with the standard Blu Ray as stated on the original online advertisement. The picture quality is amazing and a reference quality disc. The graininess in the playback is the way it's supposed to look. This was filmed in 35mm so the transfer is great and with Dolby Atmos the opening scene sounds as if your right with them. A must pick up!

This is by far the best war film I've ever seen. The characters in this film were very interesting. Everytime someone would die, you go through so many emotions like anger, hate and sadness. War can be very cruel and this film is very gory and realistic. If you care to see a movie about a group of men, bonding, suffering, going through alot to save one man during WWII, I highly recommend this film.

This is an amazing movie starring Tom Hanks ( which tells you right there it's going to be a great film) and Matt Damon. Realistic war movie with a good story to follow. One of the best films ever made! Steelbook looks like a worn down ammunition box and lots of extra goodies which makes it worth buying! Get it before it's gone!!

I had heard so much about this movie but had never seen it. I bought it because Tom Hanks 'never' makes a bad picture. What an incredible story. The battle scenes are realistic and very graphic. The 4k-Ultra HDR throws you right into the scenes. The Dolby Atmos sound send bullets and shrapnel whizzing past your ears. This is a must have movie in anyone's home collection.

Dolby Vision adds a lot to the picture quality. The restoration looks great on this older film. Of course the sound is great! The bullets wizzing by in every speaker and the LFE from the bombs and explosions are great and really add to the immersion.

I just finished watching this movie for the first time yesterday, and it is a true war movie MASTERPIECE! The Steelbook is not too crazy, but it doesn’t really need to be, it’s simple and sweet. The movie however, is out of this world! I loved this movie and I love the Steelbook, glad to have it in the collection!

My son and I are WWII buffs. After visiting Germany, France, St Lo, Normandy Nancy earlier this year so I thought what a great way to re-live that experience.... Not disappointed at all... Watching in 4K as compared to HD is a world apart. The depth and and color are incredible. Almost like being there live. If you have a 4k UHD and like WW II, this is a no brainer.

The audio is awsome surround sound!! Picture good too

The movie looks amazing and the sound is terrific.

A movie directed by Steven Spielberg is good enough to sell to everyone but this movie like his many others deserves all the praise in the world. The visual is breathtaking & haunting because of the World War 2 setting, all the actors are perfectly casted, the main story, the musical score, it all suits perfectly. It’s a masterpiece that should be watched by everyone.

This is a true masterpiece from Spielberg, showing the horrors of war during D-Day in very realistic and graphic details. A testament to all the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives to free Europe from fascism, sadly reappearing today in the US and also parts of Europe.

I have the original blu ray version and bought the new 4K Ultra HD since this war movie is GOAT. It is definitely a worthy upgrade especially if you have 4K HDR TV and a really good audio system. If not, then get the blu-ray because honestly you can't really beat perfection. The opening Omaha beach landing scene is epic in either the blu ray or 4K Ultra HD version.

More than likely anybody browsing for this is simply upgrading from an old DVD, so those folks probably need no coaxing to buy this. For everyone else, this is movie that is among the best of any war film produced. It's gritty and holds no punches about the fact that, yes, war is the exact opposite of heaven (and really, Best Buy, you're going to make me censor a review for an R-rated movie?). It's about a bunch of average joes stuck in a situation that nobody would ever want to be in, and doesn't glorify anything in the process. The only reason I give this four stars instead of five is due to this not being a movie one watches very often. It can get pretty rough, but it's definitely something that everybody should watch at some point in their lives to see what many of our ancestors went through.

No doubt about it, one of my top 2 favorite war movies of all time, right next to Bridge On The River Kwai. Got rid of the DVD years ago with the intent to replace it with BluRay, and finally did, making great even better. If I had seen/found it on 4K, would have still been a no-brainer. No fan of film, war movies or otherwise, should leave this out of their collection.

First off, we know what a great picture SPR was. The 4K treatment is impeccable, a real bonus if you have Dolby Vision,the colors just pop. Gone is the artificial film noise that Spielberg liked using to give it an old-time feel. Never a fan of that. Lossless audio a treat for the Normandy landing and end battle sequences. A must have for any collection.

A fantastic 1080p transfer and exceptional lossless soundtrack. The transfer is just as good as the movie, as these Sapphire series blu-rays have shown with Gladiator and Braveheart. Strong but somewhat underwhelming-in-quantity collection of extras but that doesn't stop this from being a must own for film fans. I'm no authority on films and home video but this one is fantastic.

Just watching the Dday via 4K was excellent. They did a perfect job with this movie. Good Story Telling as well as acting Led by Tom Hanks and the rest is history. To remember The Greatest Generation and see their sacrifices via film is the least we can do as a Nation to Honor Them. Gratias.
