Saving Private Ryan is 20 years old, yet has never looked so good! Paramount has taken their time and put in extra effort to make this film the best its ever been. The grit and toughness translate well into 4K HDR, and the new Dolby Atmos will make you feel the pain of Omaha beach. A must buy for anyone who knows the struggle that was World War II.

They took one of few war films that will draw a tear, ramped it up to 4k and ATMOS, and showed how to make a proper remaster. The Seige at Normandy, the tanks crawling, the bullets flying by. I can only imagine this is what those soldiers felt on D-day. A remarkable film, a powerful story about sacrifice and honor, and an experience you'll never forget.

Saving private ryan is not only one of the greatest movie of all time in the late 90s but tells a really great story and while it took me awhile to finally get the steelbook I'm glad I own the steelbook after wanting to own it in my steelbook collection. This is a highly recommend.

Classic war movie with a great story line. I watched the film in HDR since my bluray player does not support Dolby Vision. Despite the film being "4K", it was noticeably grainy at times, which is understandable given that it's a film from the 90's. This film does include Dolby Vision but I have yet to see the impact it has on the viewing experience (looking forward to it though). The Dolby Atmos audio was a welcome addition and a joy to listen to/experience. If you are expecting the film to magically look like Blade Runner 2049, you'll be slightly disappointed but if you are a big fan of the film and/or are looking to watch it with a Dolby Atmos, then the 4K UHD bluray comes recommended.

Classic war movie, but in 4k Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos sound brings new life to this movie! The regular 1080p is a nice backup. The only complaint I have is the digital copy, it isn't compatible with Movies Anywhere, so I had to join it to my Apple account instead of the digital library I have.

This is the film that set the bar for portraying battle in a gritty, realistic manner. The picture quality is sharp and clear. No doubt many video games like Call of Duty were inspired by the footage. The sound of machine guns firing and bullets whizzing by make it seem as if you're right in the middle of the Normandy Beach invasion. Definitely snubbed for the Best Picture Oscar win.

Steven Spielberg and Tom Hank's Oscar Award winning film brings you behind enemy lines to see WWII combat up close and personal. One of the best war films ever made this 4K steelbook let's you see it in full sights and sounds as good as you remember it from the theater release.

This movie portrayed combat so naturally, that when a conflict occurred, violence came across as inevitably painful, and not as many other "action" movies where violence was accentuated for effect. And yet, Saving Private Ryan is probably one of the most violent dramas I have ever seen. Furthermore, it is excellently written, acted, and directed. Great movie. No wonder it is an Oscar winner.

The other edition that I own of 'Saving Private Ryan' is the 60th Anniversary D-Day Commemorative DVD (2-disc). This catalog release by Paramount is terrific. If you have a 4K home entertainment set up and have seen this movie, you should be pleased with your purchase.

This has always been a favorite and something that has to be ranked as one of the greatest (war) films of all time. Tom Hanks is predictably amazing, but his supporting cast is stunning as well—including a young Vin Diesel! (Say what?!)— who play his squad mates. A truly emotional and powerful movie that is displayed beautifully in 4K.

I had never seen before this movie and i bought it just to see what the hype about it was. It was a pleasant surprise and a monumental cinema achievement both from the technical perspective as well as the story and character development part. The first 20 min of the film are as close as you can get to the frontlines, without being there.

Saving Private Ryan is probably one of my top favorite movies of all time. I just think it is really well done, shows the struggle of war at the time, and also brings a good story with it. I just personally love this movie!

One of the greatest war movies ever made. Stunning picture and amazing sound. The atmos mix is absolutely breathtaking. A must own 4K release. Take note, the Blu-ray included in the steelebook is the special features disc. It does NOT include the film on Blu-ray.

I have been wanting this movie for sometime but I have kept putting it off for the availability of a regular blu ray case. I have stopped purchasing steel books the past year (due to easy denting and I personally think slip covers look better). But the ammo crate kind of look sold me. Also, for $9.99 it is an easy purchase for any collector.

This a one of the greatest films of all time. I bought it when the DVD came out. I recently updated my home theater and starting to watch the DVD but was disappointed with the picture quality. Saw the Blu-ray on sale for a great price and gave it a try. Problem solved. The movie looks as powerful as it was when i first saw it in the theater. A must have on Blu-ray.

Saving Private Ryan is one heck of a war movie. I recommend all to watch it. The violence is a little tough at times, but it gives you a better idea of ground combat in the Western Theater during WWII... By the way, why does Matt Damon keep needing to get rescued? Between Private Ryan, Interstellar, and The Martian the man has cost hundreds of billions. Yikes.

This is one of, if not the DEFINATIVE WWII motion picture. Reviews right from some of our brave U.S. Veterans, they have said this film accounts the actual events of D-Day like no other motion picture has before. The cinematography and direction is superb. It makes you feel powerless and proud all at the same time. Top 5 in my personal favorites list.

This 4K version is the latest and the greatest. Just like previous releases, soundtrack is demo worthy and Atmos has made it much more immersive. Picturewise, it retains a proper level of film grainy and made it super cinematic.

Of course the movie is one of a kind and gripping. The 4k is experiencing it like never before! The sounds and action on a large screen 4k capable TV are mesmerizing! This was my fist dive into 4k and I'm not sure it can be beat.

I feel this was a great transfer of the film accompanied by a wide selection of special features. I owned this as a DVD and so had been reticent to purchase another copy on Blu-ray. However, due to a great price, I went ahead and double-dipped. I am glad I did!
