This review is for what this steelbook contains and steelbook. This does NOT come with the Blu-ray movie disc. This only came with the 4K and special features Blu-ray but NO Blu-ray movie. As for the steelbook, it came very damaged, Best Buy really has learn how to ship steelbookS me properly. I ended up returning this.

Like Full Metal Jacket, Saving Private Ryan has a chilling opening sequence (Tom Hanks and his squad must get through the horrific D-Day carnage) which threatens to eclipse the rest of the film. Fortunately, again as with Full Metal Jacket, what follows is also memorable. Led by Hanks's commanding performance, the squad is reassigned to locate the title character (Matt Damon) so he can return home following the deaths of his three brothers. As they journey through France, there are many great character moments to compliment the eye-popping battle scenes. Tom Sizemore stands out as Hanks's right hand. Some have complained about the ending, but, look at it closer and you realize it is as moving as the rest of this classic.

this is simply one of the most powerful movies i have ever seen. the way it leaves you feeling after is like u just lived the war with these characters. tom hanks has his best performence since forrest gump and is unforgetable. the first 30 minutes of this movie are famous and once you see it you wont be able to forget it. the character development is great and the story unfolds flawlessly. there isnt a thing i dont like about this movie and is in my opinion an absolute must have. hanks should have won the oscar for best actor and the movie should have won for best picture. its on over 150 top ten best movies list and is acclaimed by numerous critics and everyone i know has seen it and loves it. my favorite movie ever.

I remember seeing this film at the theater on opening night, and I also remember how I left almost thinking I was going to throw up. It is some harsh material to absorb, but it sure will make you grateful for never having had to endure the situation many WWII soldiers faced on a daily basis. This isn't the kind of movie most people will want to watch over and over again, but the experience of seeing it just once is well worth it. The dvd itself presents a pristine widescreen transfer with great audio that will surely not disappoint.

To find one of the best movies of all time on Blu Ray for $10 online on BF was about the best deal I found all season. This was a gift and we watched the movie together and it was amazing. The cinematography and sound on this movie are something for all movies to aspire towards. If you have seen this movie, trust me it is better on Blu Ray. Its a good deal at $20 in my opinion.

I always have loved this movie, but blu-ray made it even better. There was just a little extra epicness to the film when I saw it in hd. If you already have seen this movie and like it then just know its worth the money to upgrade from dvd to blu-ray... If you have never seen this movie, please buy this, it is more than worth the money.

Hands down the best WW2 movie ever made. Spielberg at his best. Great cast with Hanks leading. A violent realistic film that was blended perfectly with drama and action. I still don't understand how it didn't win an Oscar for best picture that year, it went to Shakespeare In Love that year (1998). That tells you that the Oscars suck.

This is (in my humble opinion) the best war movie ever made! It is very realistic, so be forewarned. It really touches you in a special way, and is a great honor to those servicing for our country and those who have served for our country. It really is amazing how well this movie captures the overall spirit, fear, and heartache felt by those who dedicate their lives to us.

This film is the greatest war movie ever and a masterpiece of film. Definitely a lot of intense fight scenes (including a half hour long dramatization of the infamous Omaha beach landings(aka D-Day)), while at the same time showing the human side of the conflict. A great movie for anyone! Except perhaps young children, the blood and gore is very realistic.

The acting, the cinematography, the plot, the DVD extras; they all deliver! Tom Hanks and the whole cast deserve praise for their roles in this one! Superbly done all the way around! Too graphic for children but everyone should see this movie at some point in their lives!

This is probably the greatest WWII movie of all time. I'm finally buying some of my fav DVDs I have with Blu Ray now and this was one of the first...awesome film !!!!

well what can i say saving private ryan is one of the very best war movies ever made i saw this in theater when it came out and i was like wow this movie is so good from start to finish so if you want to see a very good war movie with a good story and well acted than check this one out

I absolutely loved this film. It is a classic war film with Tom Hanks. And anything that has Hanks in it, usually draws some attention. Now, for the war movie purists, some parts of the movie aren't portrayed exactly, but don't let that keep you from seeing it. I highly recommend this film.

This is one of my all time favorite war movies ever made. Mainly because my grandfather stormed the beaches of Normandy. I love this movie.

One of Spielberg's best movies-SHOULD HAVE won best picture over Shakespeare in Love. Very intense war scenes-both at the beginning and ending of the movie. The less said about it if you haven't seen it the better. Looks much better on blu-ray than DVD.

This movies is amazing. Its very suspensful. The only problem i thought was it was very very gorey, but thats how war is. After watching this movie, i became more patriotic for our armed forces. To get the best out of this movie, i would recommend an awesome sound system.

The blu ray version is just awesome. The bullets sound like they are screaming past the couch. I have a 5.1 set up and it doesn't get any better than this movie.

This is an instant classic that started a wave of great WWII movies. Brutal and not for the faint at heart, but that's war. Great story and makes me cry. Remastered Blu-Ray was done very well, and surround sound is great.

For the first 30 minutes, the great is infamous. It begins in the June 6th 1944, THE INVASION of Germany in Ohama Beach. The rest, espacially the ending brings a sad but legendary moment of American History. I think everyone should experience a movie like this one.
