Tom Hanks is excellent in this film. The story moves along but not super fast. It does get graphic but that is expected of a war movie.

This version of the movie is great. I like that it is full screen and not wide with bars at the top and bottom. You get the full experience

The movie looks amazing and the sound is terrific.

Dolby Vision adds a lot to the picture quality. The restoration looks great on this older film. Of course the sound is great! The bullets wizzing by in every speaker and the LFE from the bombs and explosions are great and really add to the immersion.

More than likely anybody browsing for this is simply upgrading from an old DVD, so those folks probably need no coaxing to buy this. For everyone else, this is movie that is among the best of any war film produced. It's gritty and holds no punches about the fact that, yes, war is the exact opposite of heaven (and really, Best Buy, you're going to make me censor a review for an R-rated movie?). It's about a bunch of average joes stuck in a situation that nobody would ever want to be in, and doesn't glorify anything in the process. The only reason I give this four stars instead of five is due to this not being a movie one watches very often. It can get pretty rough, but it's definitely something that everybody should watch at some point in their lives to see what many of our ancestors went through.

I have the original blu ray version and bought the new 4K Ultra HD since this war movie is GOAT. It is definitely a worthy upgrade especially if you have 4K HDR TV and a really good audio system. If not, then get the blu-ray because honestly you can't really beat perfection. The opening Omaha beach landing scene is epic in either the blu ray or 4K Ultra HD version.

This is a true masterpiece from Spielberg, showing the horrors of war during D-Day in very realistic and graphic details. A testament to all the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives to free Europe from fascism, sadly reappearing today in the US and also parts of Europe.

No doubt about it, one of my top 2 favorite war movies of all time, right next to Bridge On The River Kwai. Got rid of the DVD years ago with the intent to replace it with BluRay, and finally did, making great even better. If I had seen/found it on 4K, would have still been a no-brainer. No fan of film, war movies or otherwise, should leave this out of their collection.

First off, we know what a great picture SPR was. The 4K treatment is impeccable, a real bonus if you have Dolby Vision,the colors just pop. Gone is the artificial film noise that Spielberg liked using to give it an old-time feel. Never a fan of that. Lossless audio a treat for the Normandy landing and end battle sequences. A must have for any collection.

A fantastic 1080p transfer and exceptional lossless soundtrack. The transfer is just as good as the movie, as these Sapphire series blu-rays have shown with Gladiator and Braveheart. Strong but somewhat underwhelming-in-quantity collection of extras but that doesn't stop this from being a must own for film fans. I'm no authority on films and home video but this one is fantastic.

They took one of few war films that will draw a tear, ramped it up to 4k and ATMOS, and showed how to make a proper remaster. The Seige at Normandy, the tanks crawling, the bullets flying by. I can only imagine this is what those soldiers felt on D-day. A remarkable film, a powerful story about sacrifice and honor, and an experience you'll never forget.

I have this in about 3 other formats, had to have it in 4K to match the TV and Blue-ray player that I recently purchased.

Saving Private Ryan was great in blue ray but amazing in 4K and would recommend Best Buy as the store to get great 4K movies

It really makes a huge difference if you have a 4K BluRay player and HDR 4K OLED TV!! Its pretty cool! Also loved the movie!

Everyone can say Schindler's List, but nothing else than defines such a human performance as Tom Hanks in this film.

This is the film that set the bar for portraying battle in a gritty, realistic manner. The picture quality is sharp and clear. No doubt many video games like Call of Duty were inspired by the footage. The sound of machine guns firing and bullets whizzing by make it seem as if you're right in the middle of the Normandy Beach invasion. Definitely snubbed for the Best Picture Oscar win.

Classic war movie, but in 4k Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos sound brings new life to this movie! The regular 1080p is a nice backup. The only complaint I have is the digital copy, it isn't compatible with Movies Anywhere, so I had to join it to my Apple account instead of the digital library I have.

Upgraded my tv, receiver, and blu-ray to 4K. So far I am impressed even tho not much 4K content out there just yet.

This has always been a favorite and something that has to be ranked as one of the greatest (war) films of all time. Tom Hanks is predictably amazing, but his supporting cast is stunning as well—including a young Vin Diesel! (Say what?!)— who play his squad mates. A truly emotional and powerful movie that is displayed beautifully in 4K.

This is in my top 10 movie list of all time! This is an all around awesome movie! Highly recommend watching!
