I don't know if it's the quality of my computer speakers or overall my system in general. To profit from the sound potential that this movie has you have to watch it on a desktop configuration with the best set of speakers you can afford. This is the second time that I have purchased this movie and this special edition is even better.

Truly an amazing story and such a great cast tom Hanks does it again a must for any collection

This is one of the best war movies ever made and some of my favorite actors in the lead roles.

Can't go wrong with Saving Private Ryan in glorious 4K and Dolby Atmos sound. The movie itself is one of the best war movies of all time, especially the first 25 minutes of intense graphic war violence on the D-Day invasion which is an incredible standout of excellent film making. The 4K transfer looks pretty good, even though the gritty appearance of the picture that the filmmakers intended is still there. The Dolby Atmos sound is one of the best presentations of all time, really drawing the viewer in. The D-Day invasion in the beginning of the film is spectacular in every way imaginable. The steel book version does not contain the regular blu ray which will be disappointing for some. I do recommend the 4K version, as the picture and especially the sound is as good as it gets for this classic film.

This review IS NOT about the movie. It's about the packaging. Normally I buy used blu-rays from Redbox. I've never had any audio/video issues with them. I own the DVD of this movie and with my new 4k blu-ray player I wanted a better audio/video experienc. Well, with 3 discs in the case, the swingarm that holds the 4K version, it was broke and didn't sit in place. Then about 1hr 12 min. into the movie, the audio would cut out and and the video would freeze. I would have to fast forward a few seconds to get it working again. Nothing like periodically for the remainder of the movie, having to correct these issues. It really killed the tension the movie was building. Fortinately Bestbuy did exchange it after purchasing it less than a week prior. I don't blame Bestbuy for this issue, they were great! I blame the vendor who got the license to print these movies and sell them. The disc was flawless, so this tells me it was in the recording of the movie onto the disc that created the problems. So if you get this movie, watch it within the first week to ensure there are no issues, or exchanging it may not be an option for you.

A true feast for the senses through unforgettable imagery of violence and the will to survive.

One of the best war movies of all time in pristine Dolby Vision and amazing Dolby Atmos! My favorite combination of cinematography and excellent acting with visuals and audio as an added bonus! Do yourself a favor and buy it, especially if you've never seen it!

It's Saving Private Ryan. Whether you saw it when it initially released or you're seeing it today chances are you know exactly what you're getting into with the film. This review is more about its 4K representation. Beautifully executed, wonderfully done. A quick caveat though, there is film grain. There is supposed to be film green, the movie was shot with the intention to utilize film grain. The sound design is fantastic, but the right setup that capitalizes on it it really pushes the boundary of a spatial surround. If I'm being abundantly honest, watching the 4K remastered version was almost like watching an entirely different film, everything had a real sense of weight behind it from the action all the way down to footsteps in the grass fields. Again, it's Saving Private Ryan.

This movie is really what you expect from a Steven Spielberg movie. Just amazing and touching.

This is a great movie and I have always liked it a lot. But seeing it in 4K was even better!

Yes!! Love this movie, Now I can see so much more detail and Dolby Vision isn't as "flashy" as other, but that is not how the movie was shot, or intended, But I can see a huge difference from the Blu-ray. The Atmos puts this on a whole other level....or maybe 2. Don't hesitate on the one!

I love this movie. Great story. Gives a great perspective on how it feels to be in combat.

Superb cast magnificently orchestrated by Steven Spielberg. Opening war scene in Normandy Beach is brutally realistic. Among the cameo appearances are Vin Diesel, Ted Danson, Dennis Farina. As always, Tom Hanks will not disappoint you.

Most definitely worth seeing, and watching regularly on veterans day and memorial day.
