Basically, the mount is a bit confusing to me. It's not as simple as it looks.

It adheres very well to the dash, and the magnet works great holding the phone. Also great charging time.

Best auto phone mount solution I’ve found

Once I put a few parts together and attached in my car, I have been extremely happy with MagicMount. I love being able to just get in my car, stick my phone magnetically to the charging pad (no squeezing a couple cheap plastic grips together) and then be virtually handsfree and charging wirelessly with my phone within view. There was a little assembly required and a little decision making and adjusting involved in terms of where it would best work, but it was very much worth it. If you buy Magic Mount and as you’re deciding on where best to mount it, I recommend attaching the charging pad to the suction mount, put the suction cup up to a potential spot and hold your phone on the pad and check the swivel range of adjustability of the charging pad in that spot. That way, you don’t have to stick and release the suction cup multiple times as you decide on the best spot between windshield or dash. Also, consider the location of your power source plug in. After NOT doing what I just suggested, I finally ended up attaching it to a small flat spot between my steering wheel and audio controls. The top of the screen of my phone ends up being just level with the very bottom of my windshield, which is perfect for me. This is also much closer to the plug-in power source which - the closer the better. Further away you mount it the more cord you’re gonna have hanging. Once you find your spot, attach that suction cup, plug in, carefully attach the magnetic plates and your done. Personally, I glued the 2 magnetic charging plates to the back of my phone case, which it states you may do in the instructions - rather than to the back of my phone. I was also impressed with the very sticky and robust suction cup - once I found my spot, it hasn’t moved. If you are somebody like me who was in desperate need of something that would suspend your phone within view but not be a distraction - this not only will place it securely where it can be visible without obstructing view and eliminate the bad tendencies some of us have to go looking for our phone on the seat or floor while driving (I don’t recommend any distractions while driving). Really good product!

This is an amazing concept that I have tried hard to work. The charger charges quickly but short of using at an office that has no movement the phone will fall off the charger. I tried placing the magnetic plates under an iPhone leather case. Then cutting holes in the iPhone genuine leather case ($40) to get the metal plates. I also tried the Speck case built for this charger and it lacked the magnetic stick. The only thing that worked was putting the plates directly on the phone and using no case. Unfortunately, sunlight heat pulled the magnets off.

The magnetic tabs that you have to put on the back of the phone case don't line up right for the pad to charge it has to cover the fingerprint scanner but then there is nothing holding it from the top so the phone falls often, the ball joint isn't very secure after only a short drive my phone was leaning all the way down, worst of all with the magnetic tabs on the back of my case my wireless charger at home won't work

Once I opened the product I immediately put it together and pressed the sticky thing on the stand. As soon as I started driving the whole thing fell off and my phone was not even attached to it. The instruments said that it’s able to stick down strongly but that was a total lie
