First you'll want to ensure that you're tuning your car radio to a "dead", unused frequency. Find a station that does not have an active broadcast and is preferably static covered, and match the frequency on the transmitter to this radio station. Your transmitter has a volume adjustment. Once you've paired and connected your phone to the Bluetooth FM transmitter you can turn and hold the Multifunction knob/dial on the face of the transmitter to the right (clockwise). This will ensure the transmitter's volume is turned up all the way. The loudest volume setting on the transmitter is 30 and you should see "V30" on the display of the transmitter. The bluetooth is weak, but it does charge well. I wouldn't purchase this at all, but maybe just use some air pods or something.

Fm transmiter for old work trucks

Too noisy

I've tried numerous FM channels up and down the dial and every one has static noise. It's nearly tolerable while listening to podcasts but completely unacceptable for music.

Not good for older autos

Do not use a a frequency that already has music or voice. The Scosche transmitter has its own volume setting or adjustment, so you'll want to make sure to also have the volume on the transmitter turned all the way up. To turn up the volume on the transmitter, while streaming Bluetooth audio (music) turn and hold the tuning lever in the down position. This should raise the volume to the highest volume setting.
