First you'll want to ensure that you're tuning your car radio to a "dead", unused frequency. Find a station that does not have an active broadcast and is preferably static covered, and match the frequency on the transmitter to this radio station. The transmitter has its own volume setting or adjustment, so you'll want to make sure to also have the volume on the transmitter turned all the way up. To turn up the volume on the transmitter, while streaming Bluetooth audio (music) turn and hold the tuning lever clockwise, in the down position. This should raise the volume to the highest volume setting. The highest volume setting on the transmitter should read "V30" on the display. Nice solution for an older vehicle!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to try in my 2001 Subaru (rather than replacing the entire radio/CD/cassette modules). It did take be a couple of tries to locate an FM channel not being used by a broadcaster. Fortunately I live in an area with several 'empty' FM bands! Once that was accomplished, I've had very little trouble with the unit. I do have to turn the volume up pretty high to hear the music I'm playing from my phone (normal volume level is around 12 to 15, have to go up to 25 to 28), and at the higher volume level there is a hissing sound audible when the music is not playing. Overall, it's a nice unit, and allows me to play a wider variety of the music I like.

It also has an aux jack as well so i dont have to use the radio which results in much better sound quality.

I had the volume turned up all the way on my phone and the car and it was about 40% of what it normally is. If you like loud music, this isnt for you.
