Like the simplicity of the Steelbook. It’s an okay movie, but I wouldn’t regard it as one of my favorite slashers or slasher movie for that fact. Also, after seeing Scary Movie, I cannot take this movie serious lol

hadn’t seen this one in a while. it’s as good as i remembered.

I bought this to add to my growing collection of horror movies.

Perhaps it's nastalgia or perhaps it makes 'Scary Movie' more enjoyable to watch but like good comfort food this now classic will always be in my collection. Next stop 4k.

Classic Wes Craven. I miss his films. This movie is scary and fun.

Good movie. We got it to watch for Halloween on our new 4k tv.

My order was packaged backwards so I don’t get to see the front cover and it’s funny because I never intend to open it

Preorder was delayed and then it was shipped in a clear blu ray case.

Did NOT include blu ray as it states that it does. Disappointed

Scream looks great in 4k, There's some jice special features. It still had a slip Cover!! Physical Medis Is King!! Im gonna miss going to Best Buy to get movies!!

Scream has been parodied so many times over by now that it's easy to forget what a great horror film it really is. Wes Craven was one of the forerunners of the slasher genre with his creation of Nightmare On Elm Street. Along with Nightmare's predecessor Halloween, and the later Friday the 13th series, Craven helped create the slasher genre along with its abundance of eventual cliches and tired plot points. Nearly 20 years after Craven helped start the genre, he and screenwriter Kevin Williamson effectively jump started it and turned it on its head with the creation of the movie Scream. Scream is a self-aware horror film in the best sense of the term. It pays tribute to nearly every film that came before it, but still manages to point out and subvert nearly every slasher cliche that plagued those films. And not only is Scream an intelligent horror film in that post modern sense, but it's just a darn good horror film all its own. The plot constantly keeps the viewer guessing, and the twists never stop. Unlike most slasher films where the viewer already knows who the killers is, Scream is a wonderfully written whodunit that keeps the viewers brain engaged throughout the entire running time. After just watching the film again recently, it still holds all of its power and intelligence. Although it has been parodied ad nauseum thanks to the Scary Movie franchise, it doesn't diminish any of the power of the original, but in a way almost further proves what an amazing film it really is. With Scream 2 and Scream 3 Craven tried to carry on the legacy, and although they have some very good ideas in them, they don't come anywhere near the masterpiece status of the original. I know it's become in vogue to lambast Scream for starting the post-modern horror craze as well as the numerous horror film parodies, but the film itself is still just as amazing as ever over ten years later.

Scream is Wes Craven's satiorical look at the genre he helped create (with the making of the Nightmare on Elm Street series): the teen slasher flick. Scream works quite well as both a slasher and a satire, and the result is definitely a contemporary classic. It's the story of Sydney Prescott, a high school girl whose mother was brutally murdered a year ago, allegedly by a man named Cotton Weary who is now on death row. Now, Sydney suddenly begins to get threats from an unknown person who mentions her mother's killing. Soon, a string of murders comes out, and the small town that Sydney lives in is in an uproar. Sydney must stop this killer before he has the chance to kill her. It's a straightforward enough idea, but there are penty of twists in the plot throughout the film, and a pretty good twist at the end that will likely shock those who haven't seen the film or its spawn of spoofs and copycats (especially Scary Movie). this is a good slasher film, but it's also something more than that, and if you enjoy the genre, then you shouldn't miss out on this.

Now a days there has been a lot of remake of movie that come out some good some not so good.The only movie that is not a remake and still growing strong are the saw movies.Before there were the saw movie there was the movie that stands out there in my eyes as the best horror movie I have seen and that is Scream.Scream came out at a time when I was younger and sort of getting out of horror movies and sticking more near action movies.My sister saw this movie when came out and she like it so much she recommend it to me to see when it came out on vhs.When I saw it I was blowing away by how good it was.The story mock other horror movies and even have little spoof to old horror movies.The story is about a killer that has seen way to many horror movie that kills teenager in such neat ways.If you love horror movie you should see scream it is such a great horror movie that will stand out to the test of time

This is a great scary movie by Wes Craven. It is a great suspense from beginning to end and trying out to figure out who the killer is. Drew Barrymore is in this movie and does a wonderful job in a never like before opening scene to a movie and gets you into the movie within the first couple of minutes. It was scary the first time I saw it. Every Halloween I break out the trilogy and watch them they are such good movies. It is not a slasher movie that you are used to. It is revolutionary in the fact that is was a new kind of suspense horror film that no horror series compares to. I upgraded to blu-ray and the sound and picture are amazing. Bought them for 7.99 each on sale at Best Buy but even at 14.99 they are worth purchasing you will watch them plenty of times.

By the 90s, slasher films were getting so repetitive that the horror genre was thought to be dead. But in 1996, Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson released what I consider to be one of the best horror films ever made. It brought with it not only a great plot, but a cast of characters that were so interesting that it made the film so realistic. Any fan of horror owes a debt of thanks to Scream because it resurrected the horror genre and produced some of the more recent horror classics, becoming a classic itself.

'Scream' was to the 1990's what 'Nightmare on Elm Street' was for the 1980's. Neve Campbell stars the heroine of a town stalked by a serial killer garbed in a Scream mask who kills victims who can't guess horror movie trivia questions they've become obsessed with. Mysterious, sly, sexy fun for 90's nostalgists. A movie that turned the horror mystery on its head. Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Jamie Kennedy, Rose McGowan, and Henry Winkler also star.

THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING! Everything about it is amazing. The plot,the characters,the acting. You can tell is was well-drawn out. I love this movie. Wes Craven is a genius. I haven't gotten a chance to see Nightmare on Elm Street, but my mother told me it was amazing. I'm not a horror movie film, but out of all of them this is by far the best one. The cons are a lot of cursing and provocative scenes, but other then that it is amazing! If you don't have it go out and buy it!

Scream is quite a unique horror movie. The story is pretty original. The killer Ghost-Face is really interesting and cool. Neve Campbell is amazing in a horror movie. I loved her character in this movie. Her character is quite believable and likable. The whole movie is very believable. It has a unique way to make the mystery and suspense. If you're a fan of horror movies, you'll love this movie.
