Fine replacement in old laptop

It wouldn't even turn on, but with this new hard drive it works better than when it was new. Beats buying a new computer.

2 TB HDD, to be used as a backup

It's just part of my backup and recovery plan, for my personal computing needs.

The only caveat is having to back out 2 screws to open it so you can insert a drive. I've seen one that has a slide switch. It's too easy to lose screws. That is the only thing that kept me from giving it a 5-star rating. Other than that, I'm highly pleased with it.

Excellent Product for Seagate 1 TB

I onbly buy Seagate

At $69, it is cheaper than the 500GB hard drive that Sony sells thru Wal-Mart. It works fine and I have plenty of room for storage of more games.

Works as advertised

Works as expected. It's only a 5400 RPM drive, which in an old laptop is just fine. Did worry about the warranty period which is only 3 years - Seagate drives used to have a 5 year warranty at one time. Price was O.K., and in-stock at BB.
