Bought to replace 8 year ago drive that finally went bad. So far so good at this point.

A new hard drive did not fix the problem. Geek Squad now says I need a new mother broad.

Who even knew that you could get a HYBRID Hard Drive! Awesome!

The hard drive works well, but expensive price for the convenience.

After wasting so much hours doing all the windows update, I found out that the drive had bad sector causing it to ether pause and hang while loading windows... sucks... will stick with WD

Starts up quick/fast compared to the original. No problems thus far.

This Hybrid drive is good for the price. It boosted my start up time a little however that only makes a difference when I reboot (hardly ever). It is noticeable when opening apps like iTunes. It's a good balance for the price.

Good replacement for my old hard drive. Very easy to install

Buyer beware. This hard drive stopped working on me after a year and a half of use. Had to repair multiple times leading up to final HD failure. Now it won’t boot and the hard drive is toast

Great while it lasted! Failed after 14 months, I am really not comfortable sending a hard drive back to anyone with my personal info on it, so I guess I am stuck

Solid state drive this is not I asked one of the floor sales personal he said yeah its a hybrid which means it basically is solid state. It is not just keep in mind solid state drives are priced about a dollar a gig.

Great deal for basic laptop. Laptop doesn't require high storage or graphic detail. Cost efficient to not replace teens son's laptop for another year or so.

This was meant as a larger capacity drive for a Macbook pro. It was supposed to allow for faster start-ups of the system. It actually seems to have slowed my system down.

Cant really say much about the product. It didn't work when trying to install in the PS4. Luckily I was able to return it.

the original HD that I had in my early 2011 MacBook Pro laptop was almost full (14GB free) and it was showing its age. With a recent TimeCapsule backup already made and a Mac OSX recovery USB drive ready to go I decided to replace the HD. It was extremely simple to do the replacement. The Seagate drive is easily accommodated in my MBP. Closed up, booted, ran the OS X install from USB, did a restore from TimeCapsule. Then I immediately noted that booting and typical use of the laptop had become speedy. Having more than 600GB free helps of course but system operations just seemed to be be snappier. I wish I had done this earlier rather than waiting to get down to just a small amount of GB free space. I use Aperture 3, Photoshop and Nik software and shoot RAW + jpeg on my Nikon D7100 so having more disk space and a responsive hybrid hard disk is great. Shooting RAW tends to result in your libraries getting quite large ~100GB not uncommon. On a 500GB hard disk that becomes troublesome. I use a thunderbolt Buffalo self powered external drive for PhotoVaults, external photo libraries and the TimeCapsule backup site. I also back up wirelessly to the new Apple Router 3TB so I have an additional TimeCapsule backup there. I highly recommend the drive and look forward to larger capacities in the future with more NAND SSD added into future hybrid drives. Get this drive. When the price drops I might consider a pure SSD, but for this kind of storage capacity that would be ~$1000 at today's prices. So the cost of this drive is 12% of that with improved performance over a traditional spinning hard disk. For now super!

I was looking to add a second hard drive to my Asus computer. I have the high end gaming one with the i7 processor and 32GB RAM. The hard drive didn't do the other features any justice, so I decided to put a SSD in. But then saw this one and figured I'd give it a try. Using Acronis cloning software, cloned my main drive in a few hours. Switched them and rebooted. Seemed like it took a bit for the drive to get accustomed to the computer, but once it settled in it was much faster. I put the OEM drive as the slave. But now the files and photos on the 2nd drive lagged on opening. So I went and got a 2nd one of these for the slave. Now I must say, this computer is FAST! No lagging. Reboot time is cut to 25% of what it used to be. Maybe faster. Seek time and response time is amazing. I would recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade their laptop. Not a high price tag either. Very reasonable.
