It works great in my labtop. I did have problems at first with windows 8.1 recognizing it in the bios but after figuring that out everything was a snap.

Bought to replace the 500GB drive on my PS4. Works exactly like the original one with double the memory! Couldn'tbe happier!

I like the storage of this due to the fact that I just bought a GoPro and its easy just to copy onto my desktop.

So far so good. Booting is faster. SSH feature would be a waste if using as a second drive (data storage). Only gripe is it's 5400 rpm.

first one died in 2 weeks, warranty took forever. the bestbuy info on the warranty is wrong for the USA...only 1 year.

I used to recommend these drives before trying them out first hand. Though common knowledge says they have a high failure rate; what mass produced electronic device doesn't fail? I thought they were a nice compromise and liked the idea. I have learned first hand what many others have stated and what review sites never seem to encounter. Drive clicks and power cycles intermittently. Detectable in operating system but not accessible for minutes. Drive navigation is possible but slow and data transfer is not possible. Bought on Decemeber 1, 2014 - Failed on January 2, 2015. Used under normal conditions as a storage drive in a laptop optical drive hdd caddy. Usage included light gaming, movies, and music. All data unrecoverable through normal methods. Would not recommend.

Great product that I got geek squad to install on my computer. Only had to pay for product because already had geek squad protection for my computer.

Previous owned this same version from DELL. But with a recent windows update from windows 10 that crashed my first hard drive and figured I'd just buy a new one and it was an easy install and fix with the windows media tool.

The hard drive is replaced my 500GB. So far it still working

my wifes laptop's harddrive crashed and rather then buying a new laptop we were able to install a new hard drive and now she's happy

I'd love to say this hard drive was great but it wasn't. I bought this back in September and it died this week. I didn't buy a protection plan because hard drives usually don't go bad that fast. So FYI mine only lasted about 6 months of normal/low usage. So I'm not sure if it was an isolated problem or of it happens with others and its always frustrating when you buy something nice and it dies for no reason.

Very minor increase in speed vs standard 7200 RPM drive. Better off buying a solid state drive for the OS and then 7200 RPM drive for storage.

I do not understand why Seagate stopped making the previous model the 7200 RPM version of this drive. but still its a great drive regardless...

This drive is not even a year old and it has completely failed. It was working just fine, and then suddenly everything crashed and upon booting all we get is a message that reads, "Operating system not found." This is the third Seagate drive I've had do this. For actual disc drives I'll be sticking to WD. For now we've replaced this seagate in our laptop with a SanDisk SSD that was on sale.

my laptop now dying after 10-15 minutes of work,- frozen screen, horizontal lines, should go buy another hard drive, pay more money
