I installed this hybrid hard drive in my six year old laptop and it works great. My start up time went from three minutes to one minute. Programs open much faster. Great product.

Drive installs easily (depending on your laptop access). SSD drives should improve your start up performance and have a rated lifespan based on usage, data I/O. This is the second drive and haven't had any problems with either. Do run their defrag software occasionally, even though same places recommend against it as it decreased the life span on the read/write cycles. Quiet and quick with lots of extra expansion space at a reasonable price.

I do noticed the speed improvmeent with hybird drive. I had it replaced on a 2010 macbook pro. it was running slow at times, and often got a spinning cursor. With the new drive, I see a significant imporvement. Happy with the result.

I replaced the original drive with this 1TB Hybrid drive. I use the MacBook for both OS X and Windows 7 64-bit. The boot time is slightly better than stock and I have 500GB dedicated for each OS. I recommend for sure. No fuss. No muss

Installed easily in minutes in my PS4 and works great. Double the amount of storage with a higher rpm drive. With 16gb cache you get way faster load times also. Upgrade asap

Swapped out stock HD for PS4 with this Seagate. No problems. Working fine. Whether there is a big difference in load times, I can't say. Not one to time load speeds with a stopwatch. More room for games, which is what I wanted.

Bought this for my son who is studying to be a music sound engineer, and he ended more hard drive space on his iMac. This was by far the best choice for him , and he is now making new beats and has plenty of space to store his work.

Installed in 2010 Version MacBook Pro and it works great. Sped up the Mac and gives a LOT more storage space. Easy to install.

Hybrid meets my speed need and capacity need for the price.

This hard drive has been working great since I bought it , it has given my old laptop new life. The old hard drive was making noises and it had many bad sectors after using it for over 6 years. The new drive is larger and faster, this drive seems to be holding up well. Though I hardly ever leave on my computers on all night to save on hardware failures and electricity costs. This hard drive has a slower spin than my old drive but the ssd makes this one faster though.

I installed this drive on my laptop and it made a huge improvement of the old 250 gig that my old laptop originally came with. No issues so far. I read both negative and positive reviews and glad I took the plunge.

Look, is this as fast as a real SSD? Nope! Not even close. Is it faster than a traditional drives? Slightly depending on what you're comparing. This is only 4500rpm on the regular side of the drive. I got this because this was all they had and needed a drive ASAP that had a TB of space. My advice, if you need more space in a laptop and can't afford real SSD, then this is OK but get one with at least 7200rpm. Reason for 4 instead of 5 star, its about what I expected but felt they tote this as a real option vs ssd and its not. Other hybrid drives run at faster RPM, so look for one of those instead if you can. Love seagate though and they do have faster hybrids.

This is an update to a review that I have posted. I've had it inside my MacBook pro for some time now and its still performing flawlessly. It's very quiet and fast and I've not had any issues with it at all thus far.

I really like this product. I was able to install it on my laptop by myself. 1st time computer tech!! It has kept me from spending a lot of money on a new computer. now mine works just great thanks to Seagate!!

I found the Seagate 1TB Hybrid laptop drive easy to install and set-up. I had never installed a drive in a laptop before and I had no problem installing it into my laptop. I highly recommend this drive.

The drive is a straight forward upgrade: swap out your old drive for the new one. Provide your own disk mirroring solution, and you will need an external enclosure if you don't have an empty drive bay. Mirror the drives, remove the old drive, insert the new one. Boot up, and you will be impressed with the performance gain. This is still not an SSD though, just a slow mechanical drive with a large cache. There will be times where you see HD performance. Booting up will be noticably faster, however.

I really like this hard drive, it was easy to install, quiet running and fast operating. The solid state portion is great

Replaced my PS4 HDD with this one and there is a noticeable performance difference in opening apps and cold booting PlayStation. Definitely recommend anyone looking to improve heir PlayStation.

i bought the internal hybrid drive to help me diagnose a problem i was having with my laptop and it was very essential in helping me repair my laptop to a condition that repaired the problem i was having.

It only took me around 3 minutes to install this in my PlayStation 4 and does not void my warranty. This hybrid drive has almost the same performance as a solid state drive at a fraction of the cost. My PlayStation 4 now has twice the storage space and loads a lot faster than it did stock. This is a well worth the investment.
