They don't have the 5 year warranty any more but they don't usually go during that time frame any way. I have only ever bought Seagates and Western Digital and have good luck with either. WD gets the nod though for a longer warranty. This was in stock and I needed a hard drive right away, so.

I have not had aby problems with my new purchases. Everything is working add advertised.

Thus far we have had no issues with this product. It runs fast and seems to be reluiable

Great big drive. But be aware cannot use its full capacity as the primary/boot device due to MBR size limit of 2TB.

I replaced a 500 GB drive, that was having problems, with this drive. I love the capacity to store all the video, pictures, and working files on it without having to worry about running out of space. The 3TB drive is cost effective to getting a smaller drive.

Make sure before you get this to make sure your computer can read beyond the 2TB limit.

As with all HD's the real proof that this is a good product will be found out if it is still working in a year.

Replacing a 1Tb Seagate hard drive that crashed. Purchased the 1Tb drive 4 years ago. after 2.5 yrs had to send it into warranty. They sent a refurbed replacement. lasted a little over a year and now I'm buying another one. Was going to go with WD Red 3Tb but there wasn't one in stock. Needed something so I bought this one. Hopefully it lasts longer than the 1Tb drive.

I have a 2GB Seagate that died after 4 years and replaced it with this one. Other than at the end where I had to recover the files (successfully) it did its purpose to store my large HD video production files. (I'm hoping this will last longer!)

This was a great addition to my data storage needs due to security needs and not wanting to keep certain data on my computer hard drive due to the size of the the size of the data files and the size of the hard drive on my computers.

Bought this to replace a failing disk in a RAIDZ1 pool after a complication with a web purchase. Joined it to the pool and resilvered before realizing that this disk presents a 512B sector size (presumably to avoid frightening Windows XP) instead of the newer 4kB alignment. Several methods to change this and start afresh failed, so I ended up replacing this Seagate with another locally-available brand (which also turned out to be cheaper!) and using it for plain exFAT elsewhere. While it works as a storage drive, I would only recommend this model if an older OS is required or if no alternatives are available.

This drive fit right in my mac tower and will be buying anther very soon!
