Good hard drive for my Mac Pro. Price is competitive .

I bought this to replace a 2TB 'green storage" HDD I had. I was tired of the eco-storage hard drive going to sleep after 30 minutes or so of inactivity. Since plugging this in, and verifying the speed, it's throughput is as advertised. Noticeably faster than my 3GB/s model. I'm glad it came with the 6GB/s cable as well. So far no problems at all, great value!

I needed a drive to quickly back up a computer before upgrading to Win10 and this worked fine. Normally I'd order online, but I got this at a local Best Buy: it was the largest drive they had. No issues formatting, but beware of trying to format using Win7. If you don't do it right, you won't see the full capacity.

I cross referenced a failed drive from my Buffalo NAS to this drive. BB had it much cheaper than buying it from Buffalo. The only difference is that the OEM drives are preformatted for the NAS. When you install one of these, though, the system auto-formats it. It just takes a very long time.

I'm having some trouble with this drive because my computer with Windows 7 only recognizes 2 of the 3 GB, but that's my fault, not the manufacturer's. So I'm giving it 5 stars, but mentioning this in my review so others might check and be sure not to make the same mistake.

Have only had it for a month now, but so far, so good. To get Windows 10 to recognize the entire drive you have to do a little googling. It would have been nice for Seagate to provide instructions for that, but it's not to hard to find the correct installation procedure from Microsoft.

Have two of these drives set up as raid 1. Even running in mirrored mode I get 150MB per second sustained read/write speed. Very good for video editing and/or copying large 100GB projects to a SSD for editing. They are very quiet. I can't hear them seek or spin.

This is your basic bare Hard Drive used in millions of computers the world over. Installation in a MacPro is easy and straight-forward...no settings to make or software to install; just format and go!! Average life of HDs today = 3-5 years. Will it make it?

I had to drop back to the 2Tb version of this drive model. My older MacPro (mid 2007) would not handle the 3Tb version. Returned the drive to Best Buy and techs and sales staff were very helpful.

I was really looking forward to using this - until I took it home and realized my HP computer (9340f running 64 bit OS) BIOS does not support > 2.2. TB and the model is old enough that there will be no BIOS updates. Thank goodness for BestBuy return policy - I went back and got a 2 TB.

Not too much to say about this one; I paired it with another 3TB drive I already had (WD Red) in a new RAID box. Formatted quickly and has been running smooth so far. It passed the first hurdle -- getting a drive that wasn't DOA. We'll see how reliable it would s long term.

Works great but could use some management software. Apparently Windows wont auto- recognize drives over 2TB so i had a heck of a time getting part of this un-partitioned and usable. Also, some drives come with cloning software. That would be nice.

I know Seagate is a great brand...so when my backup drive ran out of space.I installed this drive into my array! It is now my back up drive for my "Time Machine" and is working great! I use it with my I-Mac!

Had trouble getting Windows 10 to recognize this drive but that has to do with Windows 10 not recognizing big drives. All sorted now be informed this only shows up as 2.7TB but that's normal.

I needed a drive that was big enough to hold several backups and good dependability. So far I have not had any issues. Looking forward to having this guy around for a while.
