Large drive, very noisy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If sound is not an issue for you, this drive may be for you. However, if you don't like hearing noises that sound like your drive is going bad, (it isn't), don't get this drive. If you're looking to use this in a media center PC, DEFINITELY don't get this drive. I was in the market for a new drive and was surprised to see a 3TB drive for this price at Best Buy. I installed the drive and my software and was pleased for a while. Then I noticed that, every so often, the drive makes an obnoxious digital-sounding KURCHEEE-EEE-EEE, especially when the drive is not being used. This is a known problem that Seagate issued a firmware update for. I installed the update but it did not fix the problem.

1 failure after 9800 hours
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One out of two of these drives failed with just 9800 hours on them. It seems to have failed electrically as there are no unusual sounds from the drive.

Another dead Seagate 3Tb HDD...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not sure how about you people, but I've lost 5 of 3tb HDD for last couple years. All they do is spin, but BIOS stops seeing them. All Seagate can say is: no problem we will send you another one, of course refurbished and of course they won't give a xxxx about your info on it... Bad bad product or it's just me being unlucky with this hard..

Crashed on 3rd day.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace a 1TB WD Caviar Green that crashed. This one crashed on the third day. In all fairness, when this one crashed I took the OC to a repair facility who said I had a bad board and CPU. So did they make drive go bad? They also suggested not using a hard drive over 500gb as main drive. They say the large cap drives have proven to be unstable.

Bought 2 June 1st 2016, First failure today...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Truly I almost always focus on not buying Seagate. Some times they are reliable, some times not. First failure today, so hopefully I can buy a similar drive, non Seagate before my Raid 1 completely fails and I've lost all of my customer data.

Slow slow slow
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I put 4 of these in a Rocstor 4T RAID 5 configuration. Formatted fine, copied over 1 TB of data then the drive began exhibiting under 10MB read write speeds on FW800. There are no errors reported from Disk Utility or Diskwarrior. Very Disappointed.
