I installed this drive in an Airlink 101 enclosure (It is specifically rated for up to 4 TB ) and completed the back up with no problem. Shortly afterwards the main drive failed and I have been using the Seagate externally as my main drive. It works very well with low seek times and no corruption. I would recommend this for standard desktop use.

Great media server drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.These fit a great niche if you don't need speed (5900 rpm), but want cavernous capacity. Best for media servers or arrays because they seem to throttle like a "green drive". Just be sure your operating system and motherboard/peripheral controller/array box can access the full capacity of the drive. I think when the price point comes down moderately ($20-$45) I would certainly re-review as five stars, but only time will tell how reliable these drives are. Also for a "retail kit" drive I would expect a minimum of four years warranty, so this kind of worries me.
