We bought this to back up multiple computers before upgrading to new laptops and desktops. We easily backed up the computers and still have plenty of space for future back ups. Easy to use and lots of space.

These are great. You should always go for the best bang for your buck on these external drives. Brands don't matter. However, be VERY careful not to let them get too full, or have HUGE files open / reading / Writing while the drive is really full. Your operating system may end up crashing the drive, and you'll lose all the data. If you're like me, you'll want to max them out but be careful because if files are too large, and open, they can crash it. Best to leave a few gigs, and never have huge files on there. And then move on to a new drive. I have 2 Seagates, and 3 Toshibas. Only my Toshibas have crashed, but now I know why (too full, too large files). By large files, I mean entire working catalogs, or large videos.

Unit is small. Easy to use. Works just like an extra drive on my laptop. I travel from FL to PA. I can leave the unit and have a friend attach the hard drive to their computer and send me any files I may need.

Easy to use, installation was fool proof and the amount of storage you get for the price is great. Backing up my computer is also super easy and reliable.

When on sale, this is a great cost for a lot of storage space. Unfortunately, I am not getting the Seagate Dashboard to open appropriately on my computer and am having to spend more time than I would like troubleshooting it. Customer service is very helpful and friendly on the phone, which is a plus!

The 1TB external Seagate drive is the perfect companion for incremental backups of your laptop or smartphone. Setup is super easy, and the Seagate dashboard is well configured to make file selection a breeze.

I purchased this for a trip and did not want to take my large storage device with me. This small and portable device is more than I expected. It uploads photos quickly, is lightweight and well worth the money. I have about 600 to 800 raw format photos uploaded onto it and there is still a massive amount of available space. I believe I may be able to use it to store the Photoshop psd files and possibly the final edits from the trip. Very pleased with it.

I purchased this because I already had a Seagate back up drive that was almost full so wanted a bigger storage capacity. I was surprised initially when I saw how small it was. I like the slim design.

Reliable, cheap, light and easy to use. The purpose for me was getting something light and small to carry when traveling.

The external hard drive is just what I needed. I keeps my computer moving quickly since I do not need to store all my information on the computer hard drive. I bought it on sale so the price was right also.

Wanted additional HD storage for my Xbox One and this Seagate 1TB drive came highly recommended and I have to agree. I love that it uses USB 3 and makes saving and accessing Xbox game files quickly.

I use it for backup photos and video. Very easy to use and it is inexpensive, especially purchased online. Don't know why in store price is higher.

Ran out of room on Xbox one quickly! Someone recommended this to us after we had been struggling to find a solution. Not tech savvy at all. This was so easy to set up and am so happy at the good price.

This product was easy to use. Plug it in, push a button or two and it did all the work. It was somewhat fast and stored all the information. It is nice and slim so it does not take much space to store it.

Light, portable, solid, easy to use backup. Huge space to hold all files. I take a backup with me whenever we leave for an extended period, in case desktop gets stolen. Great to have all file accessible.

The only problem in this product, I believe, is in the saved file design in the back-up software. I spoke to the Seagate customer support about it. The old Seagate software for back-ups saved the Computers standing file structure in a single file with deleted files from past saves in history files. The new one adds the changes in hew files so there is no actual mirror of your computer files for referencing but a search of many files by the news software method of back up to find a single file that was lost or changed accidentally is required. That is my viewpoint on the file save design. The software and drive so far works fine otherwise. I imagine it will, for a long time, as all my old Seagate drives still work well. In addition, the old software does not work on the new windows computers while the new Seagate back-up software requires the purchase of a new drive for add on drives to be properly recognized. On the positive side, new drives like this are miniscule in size compared to older drives with the same capacity.

I use only two brands of external hard drives and that is Toshiba and Seagate. Both have NEVER failed me. And in the case of Seagate, I have been using their products for well over 4 years now (brought me through my study abroad in Rome and a larger chunk of college) and I have yet to be let down. I've had no loss of files and zero glitches of any sort. I could not give you any technical breakdown of how this works because I am a simple person with simple needs and this hard drive does exactly what I need it to do. All I can say is that I have no complaints and that I will always recommend their products. NOTE: I will more than likely be purchasing more of their hard drives in the future.

This portable hard drive is a great investment for the price, ease of use. The storage capacity is ideal for home and personal use, not only to back up the computer but also all your thumb drives.

East to set up and has plenty of storage capacity. I highly recommend anyone to backup your computer so if you have a crash you have your information readily available to install on a new computer.

I was getting a new computer and needed to transfer my files (I also wanted a backup). The price was write and the 1 TB was what I was looking for. I had no problems hooking it up to my computers.
