I just installed this backup drive last night. It was super easy to install and the first backup worked perfectly. I'm using continuous backup and, so far, haven't noticed any reduction in speed of being able to access email and other programs. I have two of these drives and will trade them off every month.

Great amount of storage for music especially for the price . Also like the size

So nice, I bought another one. I use the first one to share files between a PC and a Mac. The second one is for the Mac only and formatted to use with Time Machine. Directions that come with the drive are almost non-existent. I had to go to Seagate's website for user instructions for initial setup and use. That's lame. Otherwise, once the format is set, the USB transfer is fast.

Seagate is reliable. This is portable, stylish, and everyone needs a backup.

As a video producer, I use these portable drives for each job to transfer all video that we shoot, narration, music, supplemental photos and documents, and finally put the finished product on the drive. I then copy the complete package on another Seagate portable drive for my client. They free up space on my computer, and they have never failed me. A great and useful product!

Compact and easy to use - holds more data than most anyone would ever need

Buying external hard drives sucks you always end up over paying. As soon as you buy 500gb the 1tb comes out and you buy the 1tb then the 3tb comes out. Making you feel bad about spending $100 on the 500gb when if you just waited a little longer you could have spent the same money on the 3tb. I got this product on sale for $39. I did not feel bad about that purchase at all.

Great Seagate product that was priced well, compact size, and easily portable

I bought this because it was on special and I wanted an SSD for my PS4. It took only minutes to install the drive in the PS4. Slip off the cover, undo one screw, pull cage out and replace drive (four screws) and slide it back in and attache the original screw. Slide on the cover, voilà! The only thing that takes time is installing new software (takes a USB flash drive with the system update file in the correct sequence of folders) and the backing up (before installing the drive), and restoring of the game files. Those took hours to complete. But restoration was near perfect. Just had to log back into PSN and reset a few settings. Now my PS4 boots way faster, and I don't have to worry about a mechanical drive failing. SSDs are more reliable and even when they die, the data is there. You just can't write to it any more.

Bought this drive to transfer files from an office computer to a home computer. I would have given it five stars, but it took me a while to figure out how to configure it for use as a portable drive instead of a backup drive. This may have just been my ignorance though. Otherwise, once I figured out what i was doing, this drive has worked well and met my needs.

This device is awesome because u can use it with pc or mac the thing i like the most about it is that its fast eficient and easy to carry cause it weighs close to nothing also u can browse all ur pics videos music etc at ease i would highly recomend the seagate backup plus 1 tb slim its absolutely awesome

This external hard drive does a great job. It's compact so it needs very little space. I dont have to do much with it because it knows what to do , so I don't really need to think about it or wonder if it's doing its job. It's a great little hard drive and a very necessary part of my equipment.

This portable drive was easy to set up and has been quit reliable for me.

I bought this as a recommendation to get files off my PC and onto my new Mac. Most other hard drives need to be formatted before switching between the two which ruins its functionality. This one gets the job done. The only minor confusion I ran into is that you need to go to Seagates website to install a file to allow your Mac to recognize the hard drive. Once installed it works great on both. PC is plug and play.
