No external power required, just USB. Works seamlessly between Mac and PC. Reliable! I have had drives by other manufacturers fail, but not my Seagate drives.

I had a 500GB Seagate EHD and needed a new one to back up my 1TB MacBook Pro. I couldn't be happier w/ this purchase. It partners w/ TimeMachine as expected.

I bought two of these to backup my iMac. I rotate them each week and store the one not being used offsite for redundancy. I love the small size and easy setup!

I like this backup system because it is very small and I can move it easily. I do not like to leave it plugged in to my computer because if, by some chance, my computer was taken, I would not want the backup taken along with it. It is basically just plug in and use it!

Even though hard drives are pretty standard, I purchased this one because it was recommended to me, suggested that it works better than other brands. I'm glad I went with this one! It's easy to format, has a nice dashboard that you can backup your social media sites on to, and have it automatically back up to your computer. As a designer, I have A LOT of files and things I need to back up, so the 2TB space is great. It was a very reasonable price too. The hard drive seems sturdier than previous ones I've had also, like if I drop it (I've been known to), it won't be easily damaged.

The drive works as a great backup drive. The dimensions are small enough that it is easy to travel with and the 2TB is sufficient to back up my largest files.

quiet and does what it's supoosed to do. Worked well when having to back up an entire computer system when it crashed. Holds a huge amount of data at 2TB.

I purchased this portable drive to be a home network server. It is very slim, has enough memory and was a great price point to handle a small home network.

I purchased this for the purpose of expanding the memory of my PS4. It is working great at this time. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to do the same.

In the past it would be really frustrating to fit all the games you play in the PS4's limited 500 GB storage, deleting apps, selling games and not buying some because I wouldn't have enough storage. I do not have to worry about this now with this item. The nice thing the PS4 allows you to do is have this be formatted as extended storage so you get 2 TB for your games and still get to keep the 500 GB already on your PS4. Also this drive makes it easy to move apps around from your PS4 drive to the external drive quickly so if you do not want to keep the drive connected to the PS4 24/7 you can move all the apps you aren't using at the moment to the external drive and back very quickly as you please. Overall a good product to have as 500 GB really limits you with the large PS4 sizes for games.

Picked this drive up yesterday to keep with me during the work week. Transfer speeds are extremely fast when connecting to a USB 3.0 port. Nice small, slim form factor lets me toss it in the smallest pocket of my backpack. Case is very nice looking. Power to the drive is supplied via the included USB 3.0 cable, so no need to carry a power adapter. Was able to encrypt the drive with Windows Bitlocker without issue. Price was great considering the bare Samsung M9T drive that is housed in the enclosure would be more expensive. Would definitely purchase this item again.

I love that this hard drive is compact and easy to use. I use it for movies, pics and home videos. Great when traveling too. Just put it in my bag and go.

This is a very good product and has a good price point. Very easy to setup and install. Very user friendly. I would highly recommend this Seagate product.

I own three of these HD Seagates to back up all of my files and I have been upgrading them as the capacity is increased. None of them have failed me so far.

very sleak preatty handy Light weight and Awesome. I have purchased one earlier as well. i had great experience. The new one is thinner than previous
