Bought this for a client project for transferring video and backing up project data. Small, light and good transfer speeds.

I was looking for another back up drive and found this one on sale. Wow--2TB storage in such a small package. I use it stand alone for backing up my MacBook Pro and also in conjunction with my 2TB Time Capsule. It mirrors the Time Capsule and I also have other directories on it for business stuff as well as my photography library. It is definitely an improvement over the much larger and smaller WD external drives. My MacBook is only USB II but it is fast enough and I like the fact I don't need an external power cord. The supplied USB cord is also USB III and will be nice if and when I get another MacBook. The only drawback is that in order to make it work with Time Capsule, I had to lose PC compatibility. Oh, well, I don't plan on going back to PC anytime soon and I have the WD drives for backing up the old PC's...and I can always transfer to a Travel/Thumb drive then to a PC. Once I get up to speed with LightRoom it will be nice to have this drive plugged to create a backup during import. Since my MacBook only has 2 USB jacks, I sometimes use a USB dongle hub and it works fine with that as well. I think this drive will also work faster with a FireWire 800 cord. I need to look into that.

great price on this portable backup system. its easy enough for a beginner. Alot of storage for the best price I've seen.

I am surprised by the slick design of 2TB hard drive. Its quiet stunning in design and obviously its very portable and light.

Nice device, small, fast, and easy setup. For the price you can't beat...2TB is more than enough storage for the average user.

got twice the capacity for the same price as a WD 1 TB drive, with better reliability than my old Toshiba Canvio portable drive

The price point immediately grabbed my attention. I know that everyone always raves about Western Digital drives, but I've owned Seagate drives before and they have never disappointed me! In fact, they are all still in use. I bought this one to put in my safety deposit box. It holds scans of important papers and photos of a household inventory. I have a duplicate at home that I update as new items are purchased. Then every other month I swap them out. I keep myself covered this way.

I am a photographer, this works great for storing my photos. Haven't had any problems with it. Great price. Great product.

I've had a couple of 500 gb Seagate backup drives in the past. I was surprised to see this 2 TB is smaller than those! Great for protecting my files, since it's inevitable that a PC will crash if you use it long enough :)

The drive is fast, quiet and cool running. I am very pleased with the design and performance and the amount of storage provided in such a small package. I would highly recommend this drive to anyone looking for extra storage.

I have been using this hard drive for over a month now without any trouble whatsoever. Get it formatted and you are ready to go. I went to purchase it with the hopes of price matching to a online competitor and lo and behold Best Buy had it on the shelf for the same exact price. No hassle and I had the quality product I wanted, for the price I hoped for, in my hands, in minutes. Easy.

The transferring of files is very fast and easy to use. It is very light and easy to carry. I highly recommend this product.

This hard drive was the perfect size and capacity for my project. Easy to use and the bonus cloud storage was nice.

I research everything before I make a purchase. The Seagate 2 TB portable drive was impossible to pass up. My old backup drive was not compatible with Windows 10 and the software was seriously lacking after Windows XP. It was a different brand, but I am extremely happy with this backup drive which includes the backup software. The Seagate is also quite durable .I dropped it several times prior to getting used to having it attached to my laptop. No complaints! Great product!
