I bought this as it was on sale. I got it for $126 which was pretty amazing for a self powered hard drive with a 4gb capacity. I use it on my xbox and it works flawlessly. I have been surprised at the performance as I expected slower load times than the internal hard drive in my xbox but this has not been the case.

- it's fast (higher capacity tends to do that for mechanical drives), - the build quality is good, the bottom and sides are plastic (matte on the bottom, glossy on its sides), the top is metal (or something that looks and feels like it), and it doesn't cracks when you hold it more tightly. - it is small but you can still use the drive that's encased for other purposes (replace it, use it in a laptop, etc). Although this voids the warranty, you can't do this with WD Passport drives (the mini usb connector is soldered to the drive, it doesn't have standard sata connectors) -the cable is short, this can be a plus or a minus, depending on preferences... -the white LED is pretty and pulsates slowly when there's activity. -it's silent. Cons: -it doesn't have any rubber feet (or any feet) on its bottom side.

Five years ago, I bought a portable hard drive of Seagate in Hawaii. That's thanksgiving day. 3TB price was $99.99. But now... The price is ok, but not perfect.

I bought this for the office to transfer a large amount of data from one site to another. The product was compact, light Weight, and high transfer rates. So far it has proven to be very reliable.

Bought this for my Xbox works great. Easy to set up. So far has been working well. Great price for the amount of storage.

Overall this is about as good of a hard drive as you will be able to get when comparing it to the overall cost. If you are looking for a portable 4 TB drive this is a good option. Had a hard time with set up which is unusually as I own 2 other drives similar to this one but other than that no issue.

Love the Seagate drive as it's 4GB and portable. No need for power outlet. Won't fit in a PS4 though.

I bought this to store my movies and boy, can it hold a lot. Not only that, but when I had to reformat my hard drive, it was there to back up all my important files and then some. I also take game captures and with the USB 3.0 speed, I can save directly to the drive without worry.

This external hard drive is compact and a great way to store information in a separate place from your actual computer.

I have 2 of these and use to save and backup over 10,000 pictures spanning last 11 years. Also special documents. I never save directly on hard drive. It is small and portable with 4TB of storage space.

I have only purchased seagate external hard drives in the past. They have always worked great for me. This was a great buy that I couldn't pass up. Lots of storage in a small space.

All you'd expect from Seagate portable hard drive. Nice finish of black and can go easily with any laptop bag as it's rather small and light weighted for 4TB.

I needed a back up for my laptop. Needed something to hold all of my photos. This did the trick and i have plenty of room to put more on over time!

This is the first 4TB external HD I buy and I couldn't be happier. Impressive storage space for such a small device. Great value for money.

i have this connected to my xbox one. it works perfectly and offers tons of storage at a reasonable price. can't beat that.

Seagate products never let me down. This product is good for backup your file due to larger space for storage. The only down side is the transfer rate is much slower than the 2TB slim model.

Used this to plug into my xbox one. Worked out of the box and has tons of space for games. Couldn't be happier!

With my MacBook Pro (2011) I decided time was not on my side,..so a back up was in order and the reviews, price, company name (Seagate) led me to order from Best Buy. As a moderate user and little tech knowledge, I hoped it would work right out of the box...as I had never used the Disk Utility app on my Mac...it started asking for something called journaled something and I was afraid that I was about to wipe my Mac drives clean...not a good idea. I went to Best Buy Geek in Boynton Beach, Fl as a reservation via phone worked well...but the lady tech person acted confident and said she needed to just take the Mac behind the curtain and check something( seemed odd) and returned and said everything would work perfectly now...and somehow manipulated a single document to appear as saved on my Seagateq device which was connected to the Mac...I wondered but drove home and could not duplicate her success. I then phoned the Seagate contact as I had done the registration the day before when it arrived..gave him my phone number and he addressed me by name (it actually all worked within 24 hours of registering) The rep took me through a 10 step process that introduced me to my Time Machine and the drop down about 'journaled' and connected so that in 3 hours all my laptop files were copied over to this 4 TB device! The device is shipped for Windows and needs to be cleaned and formatted for a Mac...so be ready for some intervention..if you are not accustomed to use Disk Utility on your Mac. Not a good Geek Squad report but with perseverance..a good Seagate review! Confirms that it is good to buy from a recognized source..Best Buy and a recognized manufacturer with phone support..thank you Seagate Company.
