I haven't had any issues with this unit so far, but I'm not going to give it five stars because I purchased another Seagate external drive and it failed for no apparent reason: no trauma to the unit; it simply stopped working. That being the case, I can only hope that this one doesn't fail too. Best Buy doesn't allow for the editing of reviews once they've been submitted, so I'd feel it was a disservice to other customers if I were to give it five stars and then suffer another unit failure. I realize this is an ambivalent review and might be pretty useless for people considering a purchase, but I have to be honest: so far, it works great, and I can only hope it continues to do so. Since Best Buy also demands that one choose Yes or No in reply to the statement "I would recommend this to a friend," I'm giving it a Yes, with the proviso that the answer would naturally change to No if it should fail in the future.

I like this portable hard drive. It's a small drive with big storage and no power cord, so it's very convenient to carry it around. The speed is good, not great even with USB3.

I have several Seagate USB 3.0 drives and they have all worked perfectly. I was a tad concerned about the size of this 4TB drive - but it will still fit in your shirt pocket. Its fast when connected using USB 3.0..

This is a fantastic drive for the space. I was able to consolidate several other drives to this one making everything more accessible. I was considering an SSD drive for the performance (speed) but the price difference is so great that this turned out to be a better option.

Perfect external hard drive for those who don't have one yet or are looking at having an extra back up. I already own a 1TB external hard drive but wanted a large back up for emergencies and at the price I got it was a no brainier. Works with both Mac and PC. Easy to setup.

This has to be one of the my best purchases lately. It's small, fast and 4tb is a monster amount of storage. I was able to consolidate all my drives into one!

I love this tiny portable external hard drive. I have loaded tons of my files into it. There's just so much space in this little thing. I liked it so much I bought two.

I had originally purchased a WD drive of the same size due to a sale where both were the same price, but only the WD was in stock. I've read a lot of reviews from others praising WD quality of Seagate. I've always had good experiences with Seagate drives and this one didn't disappoint either. It seems I've been getting better read and write speeds from this drive and it didn't die on me after 2 days, as did the WD. The size of this drive is slightly smaller than the WD as well. It might sound like splitting hairs, but I thought the size and design were better. I'd definitely recommend this drive to anyone.

Product works well, good price/value, and nice to have the free period of large OneDrive storage. OneDrive storage offer did take a couple steps to complete but was worth it.

this drive is great for storing photos, documents, or to backup your computer. Have been using external drives for several years now and Seagate is by far the best available.

perfect match with my macbook pro with specific plugin. I like it so much, it was so small and easy to put into pocket,which was almost the some size with my 500GB one.

this hard drive was easy to set up and has been working flawlessly. I had another manufactures hard drive fail and transfered close to 800 GB to this hard drive.

Purchased Seagate hard drive to use for storage if my photo images. Good capacity for the money. Good physical size to carry for backup my laptop on the road!!

I'm using this hard drive for more then one year with no issue. It very practical, slim size and with 4TB capacity. I have bought another one for my sister in law.

Bought this for video backup. Good price for the amount of storage. Easy setup - just plug and play. Haven't used the auto backup features, so I can't comment on those.

Have it more than a year; it works just fine with Mac Time Machine backup.

I am a college student/ youtuber with a MACBOOK you do the math. One video or 10 essays fills up my computer storage so fast. I can't afford to by a new computer with larger space therefore this is now my best friend. This little box has my life on it!!

Using as storage for my doc, photos, videos for my Mac. I have had a couple of drops but it has not given me any issues. Mac OS recognizes the drive quickly at bootup

I'm having good luck with this drive. I purchased and returned 3 different WD 4tb portable drives that had errors under Crystal Disk Info right out of the box. After messing with online returns I decided to head to my local Best Buy and try a Seagate instead. I figured I could run it back to the store if there are any issues. No need to return this one it's going strong and runs fast & cool with USB 3! So nice to have so much storage in so little space. Thanks Best Buy!

This has been a good hard drive so far, plenty of space for everything I need it for and portability makes me never want to go back to a bulky desktop external.
