I am using this to backup a computer and it's plugged in 24/7. So far so good. Performance is on par with most USB 3 devices. My only gripe is that the cable is on the short side.

This little gem can hold a lot of music and files. Great for students & professional and very portable.

I have used my Seagate 4tb external drive on which to save confidential information, such as bank statements. I used software on my Mac to make the drive Mac-compatible and to encrypt with a password. The drive is easy to access using the password and I just drag and drop or save to the drive to make a copy of the data. I feel assured that my data is safe. No problems so far. And with 4tb, I have plenty of room for data for years to come,

Phenomenal 'bang for the buck', excellent price for this amount of storage combined with portability.

This is a good hard drive for people with a lot of data to move or store. The download and upload speeds are average at best but I suppose this depends on your USB connection and how much data you are moving at once. As far as being reliable, the hard drive gets the job done and it is relatively quiet. I would note if you have it plugged into your computer and you put the computer in sleep mode the hard drive may not "wake up" and you'll have to unplug the drive from the computer and plug it back in. It's a minor nuisance for an otherwise good product.

This has SO much more storage than the one i had before and is much more portable

Great product and easy to use and set up. Very compact and I bought a hard case for it for protection.

I can't express how important it is to always be prepared with extra back up space on hard drives , I love these drives with my i mac , never a problem always a solution .

Got this for a local USB backup of our synology rackstation and it is working great. fast access and a good deal of space for our backups.

Bought this to back-up photos from iphone directly to an external hard to save space on my mac. came pre-installed for Windows, took me some time to figure out how to configure the drive to work with Mac. After the initial set-up the drive works perfectly. Will get one more to consolidate all my other drives. One of the pros is that this product does not need an external power source and can be easily carried with you.

Works great with my Macbook Pro, easy to use and enough storage space for videos and photos.
