I can't believe that this 4TB drive is so compact. The price was fantastic. Was so easy to set up. Love this purchase and brand name.

Portable, good sized, easy to configure, performs well. Used it on the USB port of my access point. Works well as shared storage.

Got this Portable HD after my 1TB External HD was filling up. No issues using this and the best part? No additional power supply necessary. Makes being able to storage files a cinch without having to hunt down an outlet.

I've been looking for a big box to put LOTS of photos in. This is it. The price was so low I couldn't bring myself to walk away from it. I'm sure that I'll find way to fill it up, but it is going to take some work.

This drive is small, bus-powered, and with USB 3.0 it transfers data at a fast speed. I didn't do any benchmarks to compare to other drives, but subjectively, it seems fast. Best Buy's sale price was very good.

I have this connected to an AirPort Extreme which basically turns it into a Time Capsule. I have loaded movies onto it and it works great as an Infuse movie server for all my iOS devices and our Apple TV 4.

Tons of storage in a small form factor. Able to just pick it up and throw in a pocket or handbag with ease. I take it with me on trips and back up all my photos and videos with ease!

I have a 9 computer home network, my wife has a system with her files, we have a file server that provides common storage, my laptop has work related files then there are the phones, tablets etc. with their photos and data. I needed something large enough to store the files from all these devices, something that could connect easily, not takes days for transfers and when done I could store in a fire proof safe location (in other words a backup like you should have). This drive fits all the specs I needed or wanted for this important mission, so now I am not worried about loosing my TAX or Bookkeeping information, or those family pictures downloaded from various sites that you can never find again if you go looking. Last note I did not use any backup software, I did all this dragging and dropping then I ran a program Allway Sync to verify I had exact copies. I hate that a lot of backup programs use their own formats which can hinder restoring or access or even searching the files all of which I can do easily just plug this drive into a PC and search or drag and drop to recover.

This is my 1st 4tb portable hdd before this I had 3 other hdd ( 2 x 1tb, 1x 2tb), I wanted high capacity hdd for my new tv to store huge 4k movies and 3d movies, etc. I was sceptical that it might be noisy or may not b efficient due to small size and high capacity of 4tb but I was wrong it is perfect look classy with dull power on light and read write speed is as expected from 3.0 at the same time very silent cant even feel any vibrations of the disk rotation.

I do a lot of video editing and storage space is at a premium. I've used Seagate before along with others like Wedtern digital and have had the best experiences with Seagates especially since I use a Mac.

Seagate has always been my go to for back-up drives. Slim, portable and easy to use. However, the Seagate Dashboard has some known glitches and causes your computer to shut down in the middle of the back-up. The drive itself gets 5 stars, but with the bug in Dashboard, unfortunately I can only rate it 4 stars.

Replaced two older external hard drives, 2Tb each, with this one. No external power, just an USB connection. It is small, light and efficient. It is fast enough especially transferring the large files.

This is a great value and will handle your back up needs. It includes a backup software if you choose to use it.

This is the third Seagate drive I have purchased over the years. I have purchased other brands and have had much better luck with Seagate. I travel with these drives, they are reliable and durable.

Also able to plug into my xbox one. A real plus there.

I have been using this for 6 months as a backup for OS and media. so far no issues - working as advertised!

As my review summary states, The drive is compact, has 4 TB (Actual 3.63 TB). I like the fact that its USB powered and compact, just make it easy for me to take it with my laptop when i travel. USB 2 transfer speed when copying music to the device is around 16-19mb, havent tried loading Large single files(DVD ISOs, etc..) to it yet, primarily use it for music and it works great for me with no issues for over a month of use so far.
