I bought this to back up documents at work. This has worked great for what I needed.

I have always bought Western Digital portable hard drives in the past. Decided to buy this one for the price. It is slightly bigger than my WD drives. It is tight fit in my old WD case. However, other than that, it is just as good as the WD drives I have used. It seems to be reliable, with no problems so far. I would recommend this drive if you can get it at a good price

I've been purchasing much more expensive hard drives for video editing. Some of them haven't stood the test of time. The Seagate series of hard drives is an excellent lower-priced but still solid additional choice. I immediately purchased six 4TB drives.

Great value for the price. The backup software that come with it is really good.

I bought this "BackupPlus" instead of the Seagate "Expansion" Drive because I have 3 of the expansion drives (purchased this year) that turned out to be flakey (file transfer screeches to a stop, then resumes ok). I am in the process of proving that to Seagate since their test utility download didn't prove the issue. I tested the Backup Plus using a new HP laptop and fresh/clean installation of Windows 10 (Intel I7) on a USB 3.0 port. Windows displays between 110 to 120 MBytes per second for reading files 20 MB or larger (surveillance backup), which is the top speed of any of my Seagate drives (I have about 20 of them - mostly "Expansion" but some are "BackupPlus"). Note: When reading, this speed was achieved by copying to an internal SSD drive, so I would NOT expect the same speed if you are using a "spinner" drive (not SSD).

I purchased this so that I would be able to take my digital library with me when I went on trips and also so that I could listen to my series while at work. It's small enough to fit in my carry case and doesn't eat up room like the big ones do.

Convenient, comfortable size for an external hard drive with such a large storage capacity. Nice looking design too. The $10 add-on through Seagate for 3 years data recovery protection is also a really good deal. Fast read and write speeds.

4TB on a portable drive is way to go! very efficient and spacy drive.

I purchased this to add more memory to my playstation 4 and I wish i had gotten one years ago. ALL my games fit on it with plenty of room to spare and I no longer have to download and delete games on my playstation due to lack of space

I have found Seagate products to be one of the most reliable on the market.

Works amazing with the PS4 Pro, where the limiting factor is the power state of the Playstation's settings, set by the user. Doesn't like to lose power, but no damage has come of it a year down the road.

Got this portable drive to replace a smaller 1tb backup drive that lacked storage space. The 4tb will serve my requirements for backup of photos and video for a long time. The USB3 capability makes it lightening fast. Glad I bought it.
