very good option for big storage, fast data transfer at a reasonable price

Easy to set up lots of space for low cost no need for separate power supply

Great for archival storage of my photo library. I preserve the space on my laptop for programs and current photo project editing, and keep my library on external drives [one for primary storage, and separate external drive for archival-backup storage]. The "Cloud" is great as a 2nd backup medium, but I don't trust other providers as my primary data storage medium.

It has a big capacity of storage and the size is convenient.

Great stable drive and great value for the price paid. It has a huge storage capacity of 8TB which can hold thousands of pictures, documents, and great for media storage like tv episodes and moves. Seagate builds a great drive and this is no exception, it was such a good value that I bought 2 of them, you won't go wrong with this purchase.

I use this drive to backup the really important information on my NAS. It is a great value and has worked perfectly doing nightly backups of my important data. It is very much no frills but it is a hard drive. How fancy do you want it to be?

I use this for a music server. My 4TB had gotten over half full and decided to get a new drive and use the old one for a backup. Super easy to setup and put into it's intended use. Write speed seems a bit slower but read speed is great. That's what you need from a pure storage and or archival device.

I got this because my xbox one harddrive was filling up .so i look around and found this one not only was it on sale but i now have more space for my games . it works great on my xbox one .

Was looking for a backup to store everything important. Found this drive. Works great. Small enough to store and travel with it which I did recently. 8 TB drive and holds everything. Super fast transfers too. Was so good I had my dad by one to backup all his files and pictures!!

I hardly have any issues with Seagate external large volume drives and I have purchased many of them. Maybe a drive failure once every five years so always have a backup or some type of hard drive redundancy set up. Hard drives do fail.... it's only a matter of time so plan for it. No brand is perfect but Seagate has been good to me for the past 10 years with maybe two drive failures and their pricing is very competitive.

This 8TB USB drive has plenty of space for my storage needs. Didn't perform any benchmarks, but it should be fast enough for most users who are using these as backup devices. Prices of these external USB drives are oddly a lot more cost effective than internal drives.

I use this drive on my Mac mini server and it is worked by great and super simple setup.

After ripping my Blu-Rays, there was suddenly over 4TB of just Blu-Ray movies. Thats not including DVD movies and TV seasons. The high RPM internal NAS drives were very expensive, so this external low RPM USB3 backup drive is the perfect solution.

For a 8tb hardrive it really is small for its amount of memory.Just love it
