Seagate has packed 4GB into a small package to provide backup for larger capacity computers or for storing large amount of data. I personally have partitioned this drive into two 2GB partitions. I use one as a Time Machine backup for my Mac Mini and the second for a "clone" of that same Mac Mini. It is a great big little hard drive!

The volume is big enough to backup all my data, including photos, video, music and so on. The read and write speed is fast. If it can be a little bit slimmer and lighter, it will be a perfect portable hard drive.

There seems to be a common perception that Western Digital reigns as the best in hard drives. I would never say Western Digital are anything but great. But my point here is that they aren't alone in that status. I have used Seagate along side Western Digital for years with never a single issue. I've had failures on each side, equally. I've had durability on each side, equally. The one difference? Price. And Seagate wins out on that criteria.

I use it for photo storage. Great for backing up personal data.

My Seagate Backup Plus is a great add-on for my home computer system. I use it to store my thousands of family pictures we have accumulate over the years. Future generations will be able to go back in time to see the history of the Derrick family. I am now in the process of scanning all of the printed pictures we have in albums and boxes tucked away in storage taken before we got into the digital camera age.

Great drive. Super fast. Only watch out is reliability. I had one of these and it died. Got another from seagate in two weeks turn time. Back up.

As a DJ, it's imperative for me to have a hard drive that doesn't fail me. This hard drive has more than enough space to acommodate all my music and videos, and when I use it DJing, it hasn't failed me.

You can't go wrong with a Seagate HD and this one is no exception. They did a good job with the design too. I like the black color that goes well with everything else in my office.
