This is the perfect large capacity, small footprint hard drive. I use it for backing up all my photos and documents.

The unit was easy to setup and use and I like it. However it does not work with all my computers. It needs two powers USB ports to function and my MS Surface Pro 3 has one. Other than that it's great for all my other computers. JJRYAN

I have 3 of these drives. I use them for video and photo work as well as general backups. While not SSD speeds I can get 170-180 MB/s on large files.

A bit larger than most portable USB 3.0 drives, but given the capacity to be expected. Great performance!

This is a very good external HD to use as: - Archiving external HD - XBOX But not for your primary external HD because it's a bit slow, get SSD for daily use.

I purchased this to store the media for my Plex Media Server. For a reason I could not diagnose, Plex would often report the file as present but "Unavailable". The same files on my WD and LaCie drives never experienced the problem. Since upgrading to a WD My Passport 4TB drive, I haven't noticed any functional drop off due to the drop in theoretical transfer speeds. I've also always been partisan to WD drives, so my bias may have also had a role to play in my lack of patience for sticking with the Seagate drive and better diagnosing the issue. Overall, I would go with the WD My Passport. Sleeker, better form factor, and I have not noticed any performance drop off.

We needed a backup device to help move data between computers and this one worked easily.

Not much to say it that it definitely has plenty of room for my stuff. So far so good.

I bought this primarily for storage of movies and picture files. It downloads extremely fast and I'm very happy with it.

If you have a bunch of movies, music, etc. that you want to keep in one place, this is definitely what you need! :)

The fast products perform at 2X the USB speed of standard 3.0 USB devices.
