It looks like the HD will do the job. It does take time with larger files.

Good product. Good amount of hard drive space for the money

It's USB 3.0 port works on some computers and not on others. It does work at a USB 2.0 device on the computers that don't see it as 3.0. This drive tends to overheat when transferring large amounts of data. With an 8tb hard disk that would be what you would expect to be needed. Backing up with around 6tb of data it reached temperatures of over 51c. Restoring it went over that and on the computer I was using and caused it to forcibly reboot. If you are not serious about trying to use its capacity it works. But if you want to use it to back/restore up anything over 1tb at a time I would seriously look for something else.

Bought this to use on the PS4, But it does not read for the PS4. Do not advise to buy if you are needing it on the PS4. Im sure it would be great for a computer

Seems to be working right, only had it for a month.

I think I need to go with just SSD from now on. The Seagates last about three years and then one day you wished you would have moved that material to another back up because your hard drive becomes incommunicado. But, that gives me 3 years to not depend on this drive.

Unable to Plug laptop In Front Networked works OK.

This storage device has a cool design and i loved that it had the usb hub, but the reason i bought it was to extend the storage of my PS4 and it was not compatible with the PS4. I called seagate tech support to have them help try to format it, but were unsuccessful. So i returned it and got a WD Mybook and it worked great and was able to format the device on the PS4.

The price is fair for what you age getting! It is noisy almost like a coffee machine brewing. Also very slow when downloading content. All aside this drive is a cheap storage device for short term.

The drive died while writing after less than 50 hours continuous operation. OTOH, the USB interface and hub carried on, and another drive connected through the hub didn't hiccup. This sort of infant mortality used to be avoided by factory burn-in. Evidently, Seagate relies on their customers for that service. Alas, I never that to be backing up continuously …

This drive is very noisy. It was purchased be attached storage on an RT-AC68U in the living room. When the room was quite the drive made very noticeable seeking noise. If this drive is going in a noise environment or you don't mind loud drive noises you're fine. This was the noisiest drive in my collection until return.
