Seagate software & backup features don't work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy this product. The software and associated backup features are poorly designed and do not work. I purchased this hard drive to backup my mobile devices via wifi through my network at home. After viewing the tutorials and reading the related FAQs I still wasn't able to perform a backup. I was never able to log into the Dashboard even though I was entering the correct password. Returning it back to the store. Junk!!!

One issue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have about 2 (1 TB) and 1 (2 TB) for my computer back ups and they all have the same issue. The wire that connects the hard drive to the computer somehow always gets loose and falls out at the smallest movements or any tampering of the hard drive or my laptop. Other than that it really has been a work/life saver.

Great Seagate Support, but drive a dud 2x
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am on my second external drive, and am really disappointed that this is the 2nd time in 2 years that the drive just stopped working. No computer would recognize it, and support couldn't help. Use it for my MAC TimeMachine backups. Warranty great on this, and Seagate exchanged for replacement, but would rather have it work all the time. In the past, Seagate has NEVER disappointed me.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

Computer is not recognizing the drive. Called support, sent me an e-mail to check lights and make sure the cord is plugged in. This product is useless and a waste of money.

Good for Backing both my Desktop and Laptop

Sleek and small footprint

HORRIBLE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I HAVE BOUGHT 3 OF THESE EXACT 1TB EXTERNAL HD's AND EVERY ONE OF THEM HAS STOPPED WORKING WITHIN A FEW MONTHS AT MOST... lost DECADES worth of home videos, pictures etc! Purchased a WD MyCloud Storage Device instead, which i DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! Attach an external device if needed, but access your backed up media/files ANYWHERE you're connected to the internet. These SEAGATE BACKUP "PLUS" DRIVES DO NOT LAST!!!
