Drive failed after two uses, lost all my data including family photos etc.. Almost impossible to find a number on their website or even any chat, for help. Website tech support is worthless. Shipped (at my expense) device back to seagate as it was still under warranty. Then received it back and it failed AGAIN. Backup keeps halting with no explanation. Their software instructions are virtually nill and inexcusably unhelpful. I will NEVER AGAIN buy any Seagarbage produce period.

had for 3 hours backed up all my media files. did a total system wipe on my computer then went to reinstall the media the light just flashed. tryed on another computer laptop and same thing. the light quit flashing and now makes a beep when plugged in then clicks. it is recognized in disk management but will not work. thousands of dollars in media and thousands of irreplaceable files are gone. very unhappy i hope bestbuy makes this right

I bought this at Best Buy on 4/13/2017 and it failed on 7/12/17 and froze up my desk top computer. Best Buy's anemic guarantee is only good for 10 days, so they were no help. All Seagate would do is replace it with another one. Considering the poor performance of the first one, I didn't want to risk putting another Seagate brand on my computer.

Followed instructions to back up my laptop- after several hours I'm still not sure I got everything. I've spent 12 hours trying to save my photos and videos with my iPhone - no dice! I've even tried connecting to the PC directly - nothing. Also no where does it say how to download from Dropbox either. Wasted time and money.

Had device 1 year. After having to reformat my cpu I was thankful I had backed up my pictures and documents on a Seagate external harddrive. The first time I actually needed it the drive crashed and I lost everything! Now Seagate wants me to pay them $500 to recover the files! Find a better product!

Used it 3 times and it stopped working. LOST EVERYTHING I loaded on it. I would NOT recommend this product, unless you want to pay MANY $ to get a company to retrieve your info on it. So sad....

I have had this drive since November and it has crashed. When diagnostics were run, it was saying the drive was having Interface contoller issues. Since the controller board is built in, it's not repairable. Will be returning.

I hadn't have this drive not even 3 months, plugged it in, and it gave me an I/O error as well as parameter errors. I can't believe how soon it crashed. Lost all of my files, and way beyond mad >:-o !!

I bought the hard drive and after inserting one item it stopped working. I tried restoring it and nothing worked

I originally bought this cause i liked the price but guess what one year later it is garbage wish i had spend bettter money and got a better product.

Unit was DOA dead on arrival. Powered up but just beeped indicating drive failure.
