Now that the PS4 has made an update to their system, which included the ability to add an external hard drive, as long as it was USB 3.0, which this is, I bought it for that reason and it has worked wonderfully. I have a second one that I use to backup my laptop. The pre-installed software makes it a breeze to do. If using for the PS4, you will need the PS4 to format the drive and it will erase the original programming on the hard disk. Just a heads up...great product, sturdy and small. Great price. I am very happy with the purchase.

I really like my new Seagate - Backup Plus 2TB External USB 3.0/2.0 Portable Hard Drive. This is the fourth one I have bought from Best Buy. I have never had any trouble with the Seagate backup plus external hard drive, I will probably buy many more.

one of the fastest and best externals I've had. I was hesitant at first to move away from the other major product, but after a month of use, I know I made the best decision to switch! It no longer have a huge delay while I watch the videos from the drive, and dismounting from the mac is super fast. It is also VERY VERY light for a 2 TB drive, making it easy to carry around. Best of all, it adapts to my new Mac system while the other brand stopped working with my mac updates 3 months after I got the 2 TB drive. I love this drive!

This external hard drive is so small and compact, making it so portable. Setup was easy, even for a non-tech person like me. Would recommend.
