I would unplug it when transporting it in a backack because the connection is like others, could easily bend when inserted. the light on it isn't too bright and it makes almost no noise. Works well with Windows, never any not recognized errors. Seems great. Speed seems good enough. I've had mine for over 2 years.

Great backup drive for any content

It's powered only through the USB port. It's working great so far. I use it for backing up my files and the system image of my lap top. Only issue I had was that my laptop doesn't always recognize the drives connection as USB 3.0. This is an issue between Windows 7 and my HP laptop. The drive works fine.
