It is very fast, and is even ok on USB 2.0. It is silent and bus powered. That was very important for me as I use this mainly at work where I don't have access to an outlet. Very good value for the money.

Disappointed

I spent a lot of time with Seagate customer service and running scans and now need to purchase a $99 program to try and recover my data that I moved from a computer and deleted. I've used Seagate for years but the last 3 external drives I purchased in 2014 seem to all have problems with windows. They may be designed more for Apple products, I am not sure. I haven't had very good luck with a 3tb, 4tb and this.
