Backup drive

Not sure if it was a quirk of MS10 or the drive itself (I'm guessing MS10). I was forced to use it and a backup and restore for my college student. I prefer to have the ability to use it as external storage and backup the files I deem critical. I couldn't find a way to change that - will try over Christmas Holiday.

It is not working

When I tried to connect it to my laptop over there, the light didn’t blink and it is also not detected in explorer window. Both had the same issues. As I came out for vacation, I can’t able to return this item as well.. wrong decision to buy this product..

Additionally, I wanted it for storing pictures. It served both my needs well. I left the drive on ovenight while it backed up a 256GB hard drive; the backup went smoothly. I am happy with my purchase. The price match that I got from Best Buy on this item is the icing on the cake.
