The connection of the USB chord into the drive is a little wiggly and I don't like that. A couple times it dismounted when I hadn't unplugged it and that concerns me.

    Bought for my PS4

First let me say that I specifically bought this to use in my PS4. It was easy to take the cover off the case and remove the HD. The HD fit into my PS4 without any issues and my PS4 HD fit into the case without any issues. I have had the HD for a few weeks now and haven't had any issues since being placed in my PS4. As stated earlier I didn't purchase this product for the intended use but it does what I bought it for very well. I would purchase again if needed.

    Never Buy a Seagate Product

Purchased this Seagate HD on 1/30/17. It stopped working on 3/20/17. Seagate would do nothing to help recover loss data. In fact, it was stated that their product should never be used as the only backup as it will fail. Failing in less than 60 days is a product that should never be purchased. I would never buy another Seagate product nor would I recommend that anyone else buy a Seagate product. Buy only if you don't care about your stored data.

Had this drive for 3 months and poof. Dead. I'm a film student and purchased this drive for backing up and transferring data from my mac to the schools edit bays. Fortunately I took the advice of my instructor and had my footage backed up in a secondary location. Have been a long time fan of Seagate, but if this is the product they're are selling these day then I won't be purchasing their products anymore.

Looking for an External Hard Drive since my Mac is dying. My Internet provider Frontier went and died for the whole weekend. Tried to use the Hard Drive. It requires an Internet connection to work. Why? It's just a massive USB thumb-drive? Ridiculous. What if I was on a plane (you have to pay for the wifi in planes) or on a road trip (not every car has wifi)? Haven't gotten around to returning it just yet.

A slow drive for external 3.0. Requires a strong 3.0 port to work well. Moderate price. Ok for basic backup of files

Product worked fine sitting on my desk, but once I started traveling with my laptop it became less and less reliable. I'd have trouble recovering files or saving files. Would have to use Seagate's recovery programs more often and eventually lost all my data. My cheap laptop endured all this travel, rebooting, etc, external hard drive did not. Disappointed.

    Very Great Memory Storage

I bought this during Black Friday for $70 deal (of course, plus sales tax). Based on reviews and comments of people in the forums and websites, this is by far the best, or rather ideal, replacement HDD for PlayStation 4. I just searched for a YouTube video on how to remove the HDD cover and replace this into the PS4 console. Now I am ready for all the new and exciting games coming on 2016 with the 2TB storage!! Very much recommended!

    Back Up Your Data

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is a great drive for backups or data storage. I find Seagate drives to be much more reliable and long-lived than Western Digital. In use, USB3 is about twice as fast as USB2, not the ten-times you might have been led to expect. However, even twice as fast makes a big difference when you are talking about 2 Terabytes. The drive can get hot during heavy operations, I stand it on edge at times for better cooling. I have two of these drives for outboard storage. One is the master, and the other is a copy of it that I maintain periodically with Windows SyncToy. This way, if either drive fails, I can quickly get a replacement and mirror it to the survivor. You should NEVER trust your data on a single drive, you will lose everything when the drive fails. Note that I say "when", not "if". If you are using the external drive to back up your internal, one is enough.

I bought this storage unit to clear off and store photoographs from my Mac and apple phone. I could not get the drives to accept the files from either of these devices. I plan on taking it back for a refund and an updated model. The help online said this product will not have any help online services after Jan 1 2017 and that when I purchased it.
