Honestly, I've bought my fair share of external hard drives and this one is the best balance of quality and value

I use these all the time to back up my pc, videos, pics, etc. I actually used this external drive to add 2TB storage for my son's PS4 as it only came with 500GB. Just swapped out the drives...was really easy to do. I just googled how to upgrade storage for PS4 and followed along the instructions.

It's portable and transfer speed is fast if you are using usb 3.0.

I needed a new external hard drive for my family's new computers, and chose this one. It is a great combination of capacity and speed at a low price. I have backed up several computers using it, which in the past would have required several drives, so I feel I am money ahead

I purchased this drive in Jan 2015. Within a few months the drive seemed to develop a short in the port itself. As long as I didn't move the drive while I was using it it was fine but if it got moved or bumped while connected it would disconnect. For no more often than I use this drive and as careful as I am with my equipment, I figured it would be fine. I only use this drive once every few months to get music, pictures and other data backed up off of my phone and computer. It sits on a shelf 90% of the time. This morning I connected it to my laptop and it got moved and disconnected, after that I was unable to get it to reconnect. Now I have years and years of pictures, music and other data that it appears I have lost. Upon contacting Seagate I was informed that they would charge me $15 to provide tech support since it is outside of the warranty period (yes, I understand it is my fault for not contacting them sooner.) and that there was no guarantee it could be resolved. Now I sit (hours later still waiting for them to email me). I have a Maxtor external USB hard drive that is about 15-20 years old and it still works. The only reason I replaced it was because I know they are not expected to last that long. I used it in the exact same manner as this one for about 12-17 years with no issues whatsoever. It appears I will be going back to Maxtor or Western Digital. As a former computer tech, I am very disappointed in the quality of this drive as I used to consider Seagate one of the leaders in hard drives. Not any more.

The best thing bout this is how small the hd is. Has plenty of room to store all my music.

I was looking for an extra storage for my notebook and I think this is a good choice.

Very fast and reliable. Perfect for photographers/ digital arts professionals and students. Fits nicely in my camera bag. It's tough & has lasted me a year now. The USB cable is very thick and strong. It can save multiple file types and sizes!

This is a great device for using for that extra memory on the go, but this can also be used to upgrade your ps4's internal system storage capacity. This is my 2nd time buying this same product to upgrade a friend's ps4 hard drive and I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for that extra space.

nice large HDD with very quick transfer speeds, very pleased with purchase

This is my 3rd unit. I keep one in my bank lock box and rotate the other 2 as they get full. The Seagate backup software can do a continuous backup to the drive so as soon as something is changed or added it gets backed up.

So far going great (more than year). Became my primary bckup device.

Haven't had any problems with this so far. Simple and clean design.

Awesome portable hdd, I used it to switch out the 500gb hdd of my ps4 and it works great. So much memory now and my ps4 even performs a little faster. THANK YOU SEAGATE and BESTBUY

Bought this to double my memory in my ps4. I opened it up and placed this in my ps4. The 1tb in my ps4 fits perfect in the case. I was able to format it and use it on my ps4 through the usb port.

got this for black friday, so far so good. no issue it love it!!!
