I had hoped this unit would be more user friendly and easy to use - as the packaging indicated. The unit did not come with detailed directions and I only wanted to back up my pics and videos and I was unable to figure out how to do that so ended up backing the whole computer up and that took quite a while! otherwise the unit seems good and it is definitely portable.

Plug and play, great for drag and drop backup and cleaning up files.

Works great, but did have an initial setup issue--software was missing (drive must have been corrupted). Strange, as this was a NEW drive...

its usb 3.0 and it works with my xbox one for extra storage, 2TB should be enough to hold me out for the next generation consoles.

First unit has some issues not being recognized. But the replacement works flawlessly. Fast read and writes and very portable.

I can't say a whole lot about this portable hard drive because I have only had it for less than a year. It works. It looks really nice. It is fast. However, the true test of a hard drive is how long it works and how reliable it is over time. It has been about 9 months and it is great so far.

I did use mine, for a very short time, for its intended purpose. I almost immediately voided the warranty, though, so I could remove the actual hard drive and stuff that bad boy into my PS4. I put the PS4's 500 Gb drive in the enclosure and it's working great as a low capacity portable drive.

Compared to the standalone Samsung Spinpoint 2TB 2.5" drive (which is the same drive enclosed in the unit), this drive is much cheaper and you can continue to use the enclosure with your old 500GB PS4 drive. Removal is not too difficult with patience, but be careful not to harm the enclosure. Recommended.

This product worked fine for me, until I dropped it about 3 feet onto the carpeted floor at work. Because there are moving parts inside, the drive wouldn't work when I plugged it in. I sent it to TWO recovery places which were unable to get my data off. I lost EVERYTHING. I learned two lessons: #1 -backup your backup. Have 2. and lesson #2, go with a Solid State Drive (SSD) which is a little more costly but much sturdier. No moving parts means if it's dropped, that's not the end. I got the Samsung T3 500GB, 2 of them. So far so good. I regret the day I ever bought a form of backup that was so fragile. Do yourself a favor, don't make the mistake I did. Pictures, tax returns, school papers, music, things I will NEVER get back. Heartbreaking. GO SSD!

I bought this hard drive to replace the one in my PlayStation. The housing was very well put together and tougher than expected to get apart (which is a good thing) So far it's held up great, and I was able to replace my PlayStation hard drive in the case of this hard drive.

Works well and it is very useful and portable. Worth it!

Bought this to add space to my xbox one, it has exceeded my expectations. I now have plenty of room moving forward. The drive is small so adding multiple units will be easy. I highly recommend.

Bought Seagate 1 TB drive for back up of files - it's an external drive. Two drives failed within 5 years. First was replaced under warranty; second now out of warranty. Does not seem good to me.

Seagate - Backup Plus Slim 2tb External Usb 3.0/2.0 Portable Hard Drive - White. Worked perfect on my MAC...until an apple update...Now it's useless. Can't get it to work.

I use the hard drive every weekend for my club night am a DJ and it works really good is not slow as others that I have owned.

I keep a few of these around for incremental backups of my laptops. They're faster than the USB 2 version, pretty dependable, and that makes it easy to stay backed up.
