If I could give this 0 stars I would. We purchased this to use as an external hard drive for our Xbox, something that the employee told us would work. And it did, one time. The next time we tried to use it, nothing (the Xbox, several different computers and a different Xbox) could recgonize the device. The LED light no longer lit up, but you could hear the clicking inside. We lost everything we had moved from th console over. Called support “we can send you a new one, but for $600 we can save your data”. Will be returned for a refund. DONT BUY.

After attaching to my computer via usb, following directions to download Seagate it froze. After a lot of searching for troubleshoot it turns out this particular external is not compatible with Windows 7 (which I have) or windows 8, yet Nowhere is this mentioned. Disappointed in BestBuy description and in Seagate. Returning product.

I bought this when it went on sale during Black Friday. I try not to shop on thy day but I couldn't resist the deal. Perfect to transport files

My WD drive was dying so I waited to black friday to get a new drive. Came across this drive as it was a great deal being $79 so I bought 2 so I'd have a back up of a back up. Upon getting it home, it was very complicated. It wouldn't let me put files on it. I downloaded software like 10 times. Finally looked up on google how to do partitioning and it finally worked. Went straight to doing that for the second drive as it had the same problem. Took it to school to start doing some work and I could save changes to the files on the drive. I couldn't put new files on the drive. It kept crashing and making me force eject it. It corrupted one of my files for my Thesis work. Back home the drives worked fine (I use a mac book pro) Took both drives to school with me to try work again. And same problems. I got the lab tech to come talk to me and said these drives were famous for crashing like this. He did some work on my one drive that would hopefully make it work and it wouldn't accept any changes he tried to make (Computer at school is a mac system but can also run as a PC. But it was in mac mode) I'm returning both of them and getting something else hopefully more reliable. Don't buy for storing very important information.

This is my second purchase of this product. This item will backup the first product. Its portable ans easy to travel with. Definitely would recommend to save your data all in one place.

Bought one at last thanksgiving, it worked well in the beginning although gave strange chirp sound frequently. One month ago, it became inaccessible and indicated corrupted. Had put many data on it, now have to find some data recovery solution to get data back, Very annoying.

This is a great purchase! I have since purchased 2 more drives. They are very fast and useful for storing large files.

I used it to pass massive data from a computer to a laptop and it works great, it was so quick, like 86 MB/s

Great portable hard drive at the right price. USB 3.0 does speed up upload and download data transfer.
