This hard drive is small and compact and works perfectly for Apple computers (especially the Time Machine back up)!

this drive was a backup drive to another backup drive that was malfunctioning. I bought this because it had such a great rating and the customer service is reviewed as top notch. I haven't even owned this drive for 3 months. All of a sudden while opening a file off of the drive, it freezes, freezes my computer and fries itself. It will no longer work. But I can cough up $500 and get the files recovered. Let me assure you that this drive hasn't been ejected improperly, dropped or mistreated in any way. I was informed upon calling customer service that next time I can pay $30 for insurance for up to a year so if this happens it will cover data recovery. Here is an idea, how about make a better quality product and make it so this is not necessary. Since that wasn't offered at the front, I don't see why it should be necessary to pay $500 to get it recovered. But what the heck, it's just money, right?

Decent hard drive for the price. Best brand in the market and you can choose from different storage options.

I have never had problems with any Seagate drives I have owned. Very dependable.

Haven't had any issues from it. Nice compact hard drive to use as a backup or just to store things like photos and such if you are out and about.

Like the product and it's nice and quiet but the USB 3.0 interferes with my Mac Mini when it's plugged in. The internet goes out and the bluetooth is interfered with as well???

I bought this drive and only three days after using it, it broke, by no fault of my own. It just would not connect to any computer, therefore I lost the files that I had put on it. I notified the company and they said I would have to send it in, and get a new one. I had to pay to ship it and to get special packaging for a BROKEN hard drive, when it wasn't my fault the drive broke! It was just ridiculous. It has been over a month and I still do not have the new drive. I did not pay $60 to get a drive that would mess up on me, then pay to ship it out so that I would have to wait forever to even get it back. There is no way to contact them about it except through email, an they take forever to answer! I am infuriated. I need this hard drive for class, and I keep getting yelled at because I don't have it. And there is no way I'm buying a new one.

I had this item for nearly 2 weeks and it worked fine at first. Yesterday (May 9th) it just went out on me. Hope to be able to retrieve my information back from this because i have very important items stored on this. I ejected correctly all the time and have a 2015 macbook pro (up to date system). I don't know what triggered it to just stop but it doesnt pop up on my computer anymore, even disk utility.

This hard drive crashed itself and then corrupted my work computer and KILLED the internal hard drive on my mac. I would NEVER recommend this product to anyone. I've only had this product for a few months (Maybe 3, crashed after 6 weeks).

I bought the Seagate 1TB hard drive not even 4 weeks ago and it has already broken. I took it into Best Buy and they said that they see the files, but they have become unuseable. There was no mal-use done to the drive. I improperly ejected it one time, but that shouldn't have caused the thing to fail altogether. When I was in Best Buy, a worker who wasn't at the geek squad table told me that there had been a lot of this hard drive being brought in for the same reason. Best Buy is selling a bad product and doesn't care. If you value your data, do not buy from Seagate.

I ordered this online. Nowhere online (I double checked after getting the product) did it specify that it was only compatible with Mac OSX 10.9 or greater. So it's incompatible with my Mac despite saying it was Timemachine compatible.

I made the trip across town to purchase this urgently needed drive, and it turned out to be defective! It wouldn't even open up on the computer! After performing some tests on another computer as well, Apple support informed me I had a bad drive. So incredibly frustrating!! I wasn't able to finish what I was working on and I have to waste time returning it to the store for a refund. Why doesn't Seagate implement some quality controls?

The product for MAC does not work on most macs with IOS X or newer. Product requires the download and purchase of additional drives from manufacturer's website; however, after download the drive is not recognized by my MAC. It will only work for IOS El Capitan. From other reviews and my experience I DO NOT recommend this product to any mac user.
