New macbooks use usb-c so you will need to purchase an adapter to use it. I would take a star off since its says "For Macs", but with the macbooks being so new I don't think Seagate have had enough time to come out with a new version that includes a usb-c cable/adapter.

Works great and was inexpensive

Two hours of play at full HD is about 16GB. Then I bring it into iMovie to edit and it expands to insane file sizes. I bought this 1TB drive to store these massive files and it works great. I chose the Seagate because it did not come with any required backup software. I just wanted inexpensive storage and that is what I got.
