My system went down and i though I lost my precious data. I bought this external hard drive and all my data was saved.

Only issue is you cannot create partitions so that you can use part of the hard drive for your Mac's Time Machine and the rest of for other uses. I called Seagate for technical support and the rep confirmed this.

its not bad i just love it. my mac book is only 120 gb thats way i need external hard drive and this is the great one

Feels good to know that important pictures of the grandkids are now safely backed up each day. It was a good choice for us.

Good way to save important folders docs on an external device, which is not easily available for hackers to get into.

I purchased this to use for my aerial video company and for self imaging my MacBook Pro. Since using it, I have had no issues with the HDD not working. It copies fast, and reads data quickly. I really like the fact they give you 200 gigs of cloud storage on top of it. This is a great back up disk drive if need be.

Replaced a previous drive that met a very bitter death.This one is quiet fast and so far, very reliable.

I decided to try this brand for my Mac after buying a WD My Passport for my PC. It has proven to be a good decision as this was very easy to use to backup my school issued computer. Just plug it in and turn on Time Machine and you should be good to go. I would definitely recommend this to a Mac user.

With other manufacturers I can count on disk failure, they just don't last and trying to use the manufacturers warranty a nightmare. I've relied on these Seagate USB powered disks for years now. Only one failure so far on a disk that was many years old and long beyond its warranty. I swear by Seagate.

Read reviews and was looking for something to back up computer no longer connected to network backup. Came formatted to the Mac so didn't have to mess with it. Just connected set up the time machine. Quite small, yet seems sturdy enough. Have not tried the backup software that came pre-installed, maybe later.

I needed something very portable that could be used on more than one machine. All my computers are Mac's. It was easy to set up different files for each computer and has been easy to move things onto the external drive. Because I am using it as back-up for more than one computer I cannot set up the time machine and have things automatically taken care of, but that hasn't mattered. Just need to remember to do it manually on a regular basis.

Purchased this drive to use as a Time Machine back up drive for parents iMac. Plugged it in, instantly recognized and off it went. No hassles. For a spinning drive it's VERY QUIET, so much so hat you have to pick it up and you can ever so slightly feel it vibrate. Would recommend and will buy again.

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this drive. I have a lot of photos and videos for work and I had just broken my external flash drive, so I went out and bought this. It's fast and works as advertised. Only problem is that I've almost filled it up, so maybe I should have bought the bigger one.
